Top Lane Udyr

The Top-dyr

Hello. I've been playing the Dyr for some time now but only really got into playing him top in the preseason and I have to say, I like him top better than jun. When my match history is full of Udyr it looks like someone threw up items on my screen because he is just that flexible. I thought I would just drop some knowledge of a few things I have learned.
Matchups: Two Paths (I recommend Undying for both)
Flame Gawd (max R):
Ti-Gawd (max Q):

(Champions that do not appear on this list are either not favorable matchups or rare encounters)
Favorite Matchups :

Flame Gawd: This path revolves mostly around outsustaining and small trades. Normally favors an AP opponent. Early all-ins should be avoided. if you have
x2 plus a defensive item you can most likely begin winning trades with your enemy laner and then it snowballs from there. Try to time your passive 3rd hit R procs with a follow up R activation.
Start:
x2
Core/First Item:
vs AP.
/
vs AD. CDR is very important with this path.
Itemization: This path is very flexible. You can either build further AP items or a carry build with
or go full tank.
TI-Gawd: This path revolves around an aggressive play style. You should be dropping q's on your opponent every time they come within range of you, many players do not realize Udyr does dot damage and will take more damage than they bargained for.
BEG YOUR JUNGLER TO NOT START ON YOUR SIDE! I have yet to find a champion that bests Ti-dyr at level 1, even in his bad matchups. You need to be the first person out of base and make a b-line to the top bush close to the enemy turret. Before you even leave base, activate Q, the dot will stay active. When your opponent shows up to lane drop your dot> land 2 more autos>drop another dot because it was already off cd when you got to lane. YOU CANNOT LOSE THIS TRADE and it will often result in first blood. If your opponent lives they will not come near you. take advantage of this and zone them from farming but be aware, they may already be asking the jungle for help so expect early ganks and care accordingly.
Start:
Core/ First Item:
if you are clearly never going to have problems with the enemy laner.
or
>
if you need to ramp up and eat some harass for a few levels.
Itemization: Pretty straight forward. Build defense as needed.
