I have opened all the possible earned chests as well as somewhere between 20-30 purchased chests and haven't even gotten ONE gemstone.
The Youtuber, Brofresco, made a video where he purchases $300 worth of chests and even THAT doesn't get him 10 gemstones.
Are you kidding me Riot? What's the point of exclusive skins if the only ways to get them is to either wait 5-10 years or spend almost $400?
There is a 4% chance of a gemstone... I got Hextech Annie after about $150. It's all random and just depends on luck. Plus with the release of Soulsteal Vayne and the Hextech Ward, they said they will have options to buy limited amounts of gems, so that will help a lot for those that really want them. These are meant to be Rare after all, they weren't gonna be easy to get.

It's MEANT to be rare. People complained about legacy/limited edition skins being to common so this is the awnser. People who want the skins will shell out the cash. Other people will get lucky. Most people don't even care.
Gemstones are strange. I got Hextech Annie after about 60 chests. And I SWEAR after I got it gemstones started raining. I'm sitting on 8 right now.
I got my first gemstone 2 cases ago. I converted it into another chest. There is zero way that I will ever get 10, you know? I'm done spending money on League.
I got 2 gems back to back at my Cousin's house one day. Used them both as chest and keys. No Ragrats.
If you buy the ten pack its a gauranteed gemstone i thought? I know i bought one and got two out of the ten. If that is correct it shouldnt cost more than 150 bucks for 10. But thats assuming you get at least one from the ten pack.
