I think you should at least have to comment to vote on a thread

Or at least make it a requirement to downvote. Silly downvote bots.

Thinking it through, you'd realize the flaws with requiring a comment to vote (up or down). Some include...

  • flooding a discussion with unnecessary and useless comments (mostly "+1"/"I agree"/"-1"/"lol"/"you're bad"/etc.)
  • the problem becomes exponential the more comments are made, destroying any actual conversation from occurring
  • you only feed the trolls by posting in reply to them to down vote then, meaning that if up votes are free troll posts will rise to the top instead of sinking to the bottom.

Understandable. I think this would really only work if you sort by recent. If sorted by something like best, upvoted threads will still show. Also, by sorting the thread comments by best would put actual thought comments at the top.

Nice name, though xD

Do you want hate comments?

Well, I was more so going for a reason for disagreement. I guess too much faith in the community with that one.

As far as hate comments go, I love them! They usually come from insecure business majors that troll League because they get picked on in real life :D
