Are Assassins healthy for League?

How many times has it happened to you? You're just strolling down lane, thinking about the next item to buy, then...POP...all of a sudden you are looking at a grey screen. I can't describe how frustrating it is to be deleted in a moment and feel like there's nothing you can do (plus I'm sure you've felt it at least once). It's not fun, It sucks. So, is that type of gameplay healthy? Or maybe the better question is...is it fair? Should League really have assassins? Strolling through the boards and reading the comments, you'll find that the most complained about champs tend to be assassins.

Now, while not all assassins are problematic, it seems all problematic champions are assassins (technically).
So what's the deal...should assassins exist or is it just something that a few assassins have which shouldn't exist?

1: Zed and Ekko don't pot you in a second, they require set up (Ekko needing to set up W and his Q being slow to come back, while Zed's w is telegraphed for about .35 seconds, plus the Q Travel time, then waiting for a 3 seconds for the ult to pop)

2: Teemo isn't an assassin unless you rush like a rabadon, lich bane build thing, which often doesn't work as you waste to much mana in lane spamming Q, since your E won't do much as you'll have very low attack speed.

3: YI isn't an assassin?

4: Leblanc and Fizz are the only ones I can agree with but they were released A LOOOONG time ago, so can't really back track on that.

Assassins aren't a thing. Without the items, they're nothing more than mobile mages/marksmen. I can build yas like an assassin and delete you just as fast if not faster. Just like people can build tank Fizz/Ekko/Fiora and rek face while going oom long before dying.

Ya'll voting yes are wrong. It's not assassin's; they were balanced by feast or famine. If you're an assassin and you didn't get kill laning phase, you fell off and lose game. But people kept bitching because they suck and went assassin every fucking game; demanding that they get safer laning and stronger laning. So instead when you used to only pick assassins when enemy couldn't counter you so you can snowball off kills, now you can play safe in lane and just farm easilyu. Meanwhile back then assassins had hard time farming under turret. But Riot was like nah let's make it so any moron can play assassins. Never mind most of them are hella easy to land combo with high burst (LB/Zed/Talon/Fizz/Ahri/ETC all easy really) but they are difficult to master in some cases.

Assassins are a necessary evil. ADC's and mages would potentially become incredibly strong without assassins. Assassins keep backline champs in check. They are what keep champs like vayne from sitting back and killing your entire team. They suck to fight, but they are needed.
