How to deal with end of season trolls

The easiest way to fix this is to not reset our ranks at the end of each season. It sounds crazy, but lets be real; most of us place lower than what we were the season before anyways. If you did away with resetting our ranks each season, you don't have this end of the season bullshit. The past month or so has been absolutely horrid to play in ranked. I really wanted to get to Gold this season, but after a certain time frame, it's damn near impossible unless you're consistently lucky. I have had bad games, don't get me wrong, but the amount of "fuck it I'm in Silver and won't get Gold so idc" is really terrible for those grinding for the next rank. If you stopped resetting our ranks at the end of each season, we wouldn't have to post thousands of topics on the forums crying about "I WAS x and went 10/10 in promos and got x." which were about every 30 seconds posted at the beginning of the season. This makes it so that people who want to troll only make it harder on themselves to climb the next season, and truly punishes them for acting that way. I could be way off, but this just came to me and I thought that I wouldn't mind not having to go through that again. And hopefully not have to see these people again either.

No, I want to be placed back in B5 and see how fast I get out this time. If I get stuck there for the 3rd time, I'm honestly just going to quit.

If you're in B5 it's because your MMR is so low. You're in Silver 5 with the MMR of Bronze 4. Silver 5 MMR is roughly 1050~1150, your MMR is around 830. The reason you get placed there is because with the reset, it bases your rank off that. I'm not demeaning you or anything, I'm just explaining to you why it is that way. What I suggested would nullify this entirely though. You wouldn't have to go back to Bronze 5.

I assume you're getting that MMR off of OP.gg. I'm low because after a 12 game loss streak, I played like 5 games to get S5 again and stopped playing. Before that my MMR was fine.

I intend to start playing ranked again when the pre-season Marksmen changes go through (which will be more than enough time to fix my MMR before placements), but until then it's a shit time to be a marksmen main, even the best one.

I'm in my promos for Gold 5. If I get Gold 5 and Riot resets me into Silver I will start to be depressed.

If you don't raise your MMR much higher than Gold 5, then that's exactly what will happen. You lose something like 2 divisions worth of MMR, so if you want to get placed in Gold you don't want to just sit at the very bottom.

Once season rewards are given out, you have the whole preseason to raise your MMR so that your 2016 placement is good.

Did it just get hot in here? Damn. That's some pressure. Looks like i can't stop til I'm Gold 3. Lets hope I make it to G5 first.

Its funny cause I main support but I have had more success on ADCs.

You don't necessarily have to get Gold 3 to have Gold 3 MMR. If your MMR gains are really high and losses really low, you might already be set. While nobody but Riot has your real MMR, third party sites do have a rough estimation of it. OP.gg claims yours is a little low. Take it with a grain of salt, but you can keep an eye on that to gauge what you need to get to.

Supp main here as well; last season I couldn't even get to my S1 promos, but when I did placements for this season I was put right into S1 and climbed straight through Gold no problem (on a side note, I'm stuck trying to fight through G1 now lol)

I gain about 22 LP for wins and lose 15-10 for loses. I've tried OP.GG before but I noticed if I spammed the MMR button sometimes it would change so I got sorta iffy about it. Also It used to tell me about how I'd skip divisions and I'd get so happy back in Silver 5 and I haven't skipped a division yet. I understand it's not 100% accurate but the results are worded in a way that makes it seem so.

It actually says it expects you to rise divisions, not that you'll actually skip them. But anyway, if you want to know if you'll actually skip you can see that in your profile. Look on the right in your Leagues tab where it says how many games you need for promotion and it will change dynamically. Usually it just says "get 100 LP then win 2/3 or 3/5 for promotion", but if you will skip it will say so.

Nami used to be bae....Then I just randomly stopped playing her. Thdn I went for Sona Zyra and Karma and I'd win some but lose more. I think Ive had the most success on Lulu Sona or Nami

Congrats on getting to Gold though! This is my first season, and climbing from Bronze 3 to Silver 1, now back to promos to Silver 2 was hellish. I wasn't good enough to get out of Bronze for a long time, so I improved and tried to get better and it worked in my favor. But I finally hit Silver 1 last weekend and felt pretty good about it. Had a string of iffy games, and Monday night had I think the worst streak of poor play mixed with poor teammates I've had yet this season. The common denominator I keep seeing is that people just don't care because they've been hovering in Silver for months and realize they probably won't hit Gold so they've just lost the drive to try hard or work together. Everybody is so toxic to the point where I am muting 1 or 2 teammates per game because they won't stop flaming each other.

I understand how it works, but I am not complaining about that at all. I will get placed into Silver because my MMR is Silver, even if it is Silver 5. I'm saying the end of the season is horrible regardless of MMR or rank because people simply accept they aren't getting any higher than where they've been stuck all season. My MMR a few days ago was 1350+, and it tanked to 1190~1200 in the past 2 days because of people just truly not giving a shit in games and giving up constantly. At the end of the season, people just tend to tilt much faster, even when not getting the role they want. I can't tell you how many times somebody says, "Mid highly pref, I won't go bot" but are last pick. So either you sacrifice your position of 2nd pick to accommodate somebody or you deal with a troll support pick. (Like a Darius I had yesterday). People troll so much at the end of the season because they probably won't get kicked out of Silver by the time the season ends, but if we kept our ranks they really have no reason to not continue to try hard regardless which point of the season we are in.
