What happened to all the hate toward Yi players?

A while back, enemy teams seemed to get really salty when someone was playing Yi (especially when they're 25/0 and one hitting everyone)

"most pathetic player ever" "noob needs to play yi to win"

Haven't seen any of that recently. You guys?

Oh it's still there. Nobody can say anything though because we will get reported and banned.

tanks and rageblade became more aggrivating than yi, so people shifted their rage to those things

Game more broken. Yi feels balanced. Water now dry.

I main Yi Junglers ( win rate 50%) and every other game I get comments as

  1. Clean up crew.
  2. Fingers must be hurting from pressing Q
  3. noob
  4. Yi dodged my ulti, yi is broken ( alpha strike)
  5. Yi dodged my cc ( some slow/stun don't work on Yi when R is activated)
  6. No Skillz player don't play in LoL.

A lot more, no kidding i get one or other every other game. And then my team keeps saying

  1. Why don't you initiate the fight?
  2. Why don't you gank early?
  3. why don't you gank mid AP ( who is loaded with CC).
  4. Why are not taking part in team fights ( while i do split push, basic strategy.. yet some flame over it)
  5. Why didn't you save that tower ( against 2 champs with some CC )
  6. This is classic, they ask for help, I show up. They ask me to dive in first !!!! and when i die ( of course I would) they flame i'm feeding

I see all the hate or love (if I'm able to carry or get inhib) , over time i stopped reacting to those stuff. I play for fun win or lose.

I guess Yi is becoming like Teemo.

There's far more annoying assassins than Yi in the game. Only difference is that hating on Yi is not a meme like Teemo.

You're level 13, that's when people start learning a bit more about the game.

Generally, someone with absolutely no MOBA experience will get wrecked by Yi. Everybody at your MMR (you might get a few games with smurfs, but eventually that stops) only has access to cheap champions and free to play ones for the week, so people will pick up Yi as their go-to assassin.

No comment on Poppy, since I'm... not a level 1-20 player anymore, so I can't comment on her new-player experience.

Amumu is a tank, and a jungler at that, so he's not appealing to new players who can't even jungle yet (Amumu isn't exactly the best at laning).

Annie is appealing to mage players, obviously.

Ashe is kind of complicated since the rework, but new players don't know how to optimize their cs and positioning and whatnot, plus the power curve is heavily delayed by the lack of gold mechanics. Assassins give power early and mid game, and they give it hard. It's much more direct and now than an ADC is, who's more quadratic with some exceptions (Graves for one, but he's expensive for a new player. You probably see a lot of Miss Fortunes, however.).

Anyway, as you gain a few levels and champions you learn to play against Yi. He will wreck you. A lot. Happens to everyone. But eventually you'll get sick and tired of it and force yourself to learn. You'll ward that one bush he always runs through. You'll pick up Morgana and learn the difference between hard and soft cc. You'll learn tricks to make Yi so useless that you'll reach an MMR where you never see him played again.

So, uh, yeah. People hate him early, but it's a necessary hate to learn how to play the game.

Wait a few weeks, Riven Season is just finishing up on the boards, Kat season should be starting soon and then after that you should see the Yi threads start flooding back in.
