Please do not let In-Client Warnings trigger until the player leaves post game chat

Basically, we had this Leona who pretty much QQed all game. After the game she got a popup warning saying she had been reported for Negative Attitude. She knew it was one of us so she flamed us and said she would report everyone if one of us didn't confess about reporting her. So, no one confessed, and she reported all 9 players. I got a warning for Offensive Language when I rarely even chatted in the game.

Please prevent false reports from trigger warnings (yes, many of my friends have confirmed that sometimes the warning will trigger on false reports) and also don't let one pop up on a player's screen until they have left Post Game. Otherwise people just get pissed and revenge report other players.

Well...he has a point...what is the worst that could happen?

He tries to add you and spams friend requests as a result (you block him)
He checks your profile and steals the ranked team names that you are on that went inactive.
He goes really over the top and stalks down your recent matches, finds and cross references players that popped up multiples times and deduces that they are friends of yours and adds them instead. Eventually working his way into getting invited to a game of yours and trolls again for revenge.

I guess I'm old-fashioned but I don't see the issue with being upfront about reporting someone even if he reports me back. If someone does something that is report-able I'm going to call them on it, and frankly, I don't care if they report me back. Riot will look at the situation and know that I'm not subject to punishment for calling someone on their behavior.

A few of my friend have actually received bans calling people out on their behavior and getting revenge-reported. However, they've all had their bans lifted almost immediately by sending in support tickets.

SOMEHOW, I misinterpreted what you said and thought that you were the one who reported her. Whoever really did it should have said that they did it though. I'm not justifying anyone getting a warning or being reported, I'm just saying it wouldn't have happened if that person told them they were the person who reported them. I sometimes respond like that when I get reported and I don't know who it was. The League community has turned me into a rather vengeful person, and a few suspensions and a TON of chat restrictions out of seemingly nowhere right when I log on(or try to log on)have really made me paranoid. Quite often do I find myself worried that I'll even find myself perma-banned one day or suspended for an entire major event (like how I was suspended for all of this year's URF). Sorry for making you lose brains cells earlier : (

wait, don't be a coward.... on the internet? there are no concrete consequences to saying or not saying anything. like 90% of the time someone not responding that should just be that the player(s) who reported them just left the lobby after reporting. often I would assume this is just apathy, and I can't really see how saying something/not saying something is or isn't cowardice bc again, there's not anything that happens. at worst you get a false report from them and if you don't have those issues riot has no chat history evidence to punish you and the other player's report function is devalued when you get a false positive and tell riot to double check it and surprise there isn't any history that supports the report.

Fasle reports dont do anything. I tend to get under peoples skin so i get that warring pop up once or twice a week. But i dont do anything wrong so i have never been punished. Because making little kids feel bad is not against the rules.

Honestly, if you got the warning, you had a history of being reported, I've had an asston of people report me because I play things like AP Nasus/ AP Trynd in ranked and stuff, but I've NEVER even gotten a warning. False reports don't do anything.

Client only warns you if you were reported for Verbal Abuse, Offensive Language, or Negative Attitude. Meta Breaking does not equal trolling, however if someone were to report you for trolling they would most likely report under Griefing, which doesn't trigger warnings, and since they're false, nothing happens to your account.

Nope, not true. It gives you a warning when you have a SPIKE in reports. I am not a toxic player. My report history probably looks something like this. I don't chat often btw, only ping.

Game 1: 0 reports Game 2: 0 reports Game 3: 0 reports Game 4: 1 (false) report by the complaining Leona who reported 9 other players because she got a warning.

That is already a spike since I am above my usual average of reports. So the Client shoots me a warning. Riot has stated that Behavior Alerts are to knock people back on track. Google "Behavior Alerts League of Legends."

No, I am not lying about my behavior, I rarely even talk in games.

I always say this.

A looooong time ago, I played with an ADC main that did nothing but whine and complain about every other player to the point where we all tilted and he just started flaming everyone. I want to say a couple people reported him in the post-game lobby, and he was still there so the pop-up showed up and he just got even more angry calling everyone every name in the book. He was digging himself a deeper hole, really, but that awkward situation could have been prevented if the pop-up showed after he left the lobby.

i think alot of people on this forum are not quite mature enough to understand that most of the time the people that cause you a bad time in game are never going to be seen again. Millions of players out there. God forbid one gives you a hard time and you make week long issues about it

The report option is "Negative Attitude". Someone else getting caught out once or twice, or a teammate giving first blood, is not enough reason to give up all hope in the game and start spamming about how a game is unwinnable and we should give up now. That's them being too negative about the situation, making a mountain out of an ant hill.

And yes, I've had teammates earnestly say it was GG after first blood.

Thinking it is fine, it's ruining everyone else's morale that's the issue. I don't care if you are demoralized by something, that gives you no excuse to try and demoralize everyone else on your team.

well heres the thing, i could say gg we lose, i could say dont worry we will still win. i could say this will be tough. i could say a plethora of different things but ultimately its up to YOU how you decide to take what ive said. 100 people in a room can hear the same sentence, or listen to the same song and depending on where these people are from and their upbringing all 100 people could interpret it differently. Its the same logic with anger. I can call you a bitch, i could say i think your awesome but its up to you if you think im joking, if im being mean or sarcastic and you are the only one who can choose to get angry or let it go.

Therefore no matter what a person says they may not be inherently trying to demoralize anyone, but that doesnt mean that you dont take it that way. You cant just assume someone is being negative without asking them.

yeah i totally agree. Same thing goes with murder as well. I can murder you or your mom or something and they could all react in different ways. It could just be a joke or me showing i love them, but its up to the person to each individual to decide how to react to it.

technically yes how you react is going to be different for everyone. However murder is illegal no matter what you do or dont think, know, or feel about it. Talking crap isn't. Being a sad person, isn't. How do you know someone on your team isnt clinically depressed and thats just how they are? then you get mad at them report them whatever else and what you are doing to that person is making them even more depressed. I mean if you go into a game and make a bad play and people get on you about it you probably aren't going to like it because you already know you made a mistake. So what if you get reported by someone for unskilled player or feeding or something? i mean who knows its just an example but my point here is; Be an adult. Once you get a job or girlfriend/boyfriend people are going to do and say things you don't like. You aren't going to be able top report them when it happens are you? Dont make such a big deal over a person who you'll probably never play with again.

Who the hell would want to play with someone like that? It's definitely reportable since you're ruining other people's experience. Yes, I can mute them, but that is no alternative to a report. Would you like me to go sit next to you and just start complaining about everything wrong in the world since 1804?

If riot doesnt change this then you could always wait until the player you intend to reports name goes grey meaning they've left that lobby before sending off the report. There may however be the odd time where the player wont leave for a long time so not sure how this would work out in that situation...

The thing is, the kid was crying in the post game lobby too, so I just wanted to report and GTF outta there. As soon as I finished my report, I was ready to leave and she's like "WTF who reported me TELL ME NOW OR I REPORT ALL 9 OF U NOOBS".

Obviously I wasn't the only one who reported her because a lot of players showed that they were annoyed at her in game too.

So no one admits to reporting her (why would we?) and she reports all 9 of us, I get a warning for Offensive Language, when I rarely chat in game, never mind cuss at people.
