Thoughts on the new patch.
I realize that you must have done some extensive testing in the pbe over the new season patch. It is a huge patch, and it's obvious that a lot of things are well thought out and fix many balance issues (such as jungler or support falling way behind).
I just wanted to give you some feedback on what I thought of the new patch after playing about five games in it.
Firstly: AP supports are a monstrosity right now because of the gold changes. If built as a standard ap support, they basically double as another mid laner. My experience with this comes against a lux, who not only carried the lane from getting kills, but carried the game as a whole by doing half-health damage with her ult and other abilities. While I realize that carrying the game as a support is not neccessarily a bad thing when you look at the grand scheme of things, I think that the fact that ap supports can do this basically makes the standard support picks, such as sona, nami or soraka, rather weak in comparison.
secondly: Invisibility is op right now. I sense that the next god-tier junglers will be champions that use invisibility to gank, and champions that can reveal invisibility. I think removing oracles was a bit of a mistake, as now there is nothing you can really do effectively against champions such as eve or traps on the ground such as teemo shrooms. This makes traveling the map much more perilous, and the fact that you can't effectively ward against junglers like eve make laning against such champions a little out of balance.
Thirdly- glitch and performance report: Overall the game feels smoother, yet there are a few things that I've noticed in the new patch that have a negative effect on gameplay.
1.) sometimes my framerate will just tank. I know that this can't be my computer as I just built this computer and am using some really good specs.
2.) movement around a malzahar minion is glitchy. I would try to move and it would be as if I were trying to walk in stop motion.
3.) game freezes for short amounts of time when buying blue or red pot. This I noticed when I reached full build. Everytime I would buy a pot, my game would lock up for about three seconds before I could do anything.
Finally- exp rewards for jungle camps are just too high early in the game. If just farmed correctly, junglers can hit their six and get their ults before any of their lanes do. The first game I played today, we got a gank from a riven at around five minutes and she already had her ult ready to go. Also, in the next game, nasus solo'd dragon at six minutes (not exaggerating).
Some suggestions: Bring back oracles, or perhaps create a support item that can reveal invisible items as a passive. Nerf some of the common ap support champion picks, or nerf the items that they can buy (I know this may be a little odd of a suggestion, but perhaps add a list of items that ONLY support champions could buy. I realize that this limits creativity when coming up with new supports, but I feel that this would be a better solution rather than unleashing a wave of teams that basically have a second mid lane). Buff dragon to the point where one person can't solo it. I realize that increasing the gold worth for dragon later on would help a team that's losing and would keep a team from steamrolling, but it's just too easy to kill dragon and generally speaking, if your team is winning you probably have someone fed enough on your team to just secretly take care of it without anybody noticing.
Thanks for reading this, and don't misunderstand, I really like the new changes in the game. I main support and it has always been an issue of contention for me. The new changes both look sleek, and add a sense of freshness to the game. I llike the new patch, just thinking that some things should be changed.
