PSA: "all but" means "everything EXCEPT"

Why do I only see people using it the wrong way? Like, dunno, "beautiful and all but charming". ...No, no please. That means "beautiful and the opposite of charming". I'm quite sure that's not what you intended to say.

Some words in the english language can be used in a saying and mean completely different things haha. English is fucked.
