How exactly do suspensions work?

I just got off one a while ago. It was for calling teamates trash and such (no sexism, racism etc...) But this xerath in game just told me to kill myself. Is he going to get a suspension or what?

prob not riot dosnt really do shit its all from a bot so i mean if the bot picks that phrase up maybe but chances are no lmao

Was he reported? If yes, his case will be reviewed by the system. If no, then no, he won't be punished - because the system won't know it happened.
