On the Player Community

I keep seeing people make outlandish claims that the LOL community is shrinking, yet I don't see a single soul back up these claims. So where's this proof? All I see are people saying they're leaving and they know someone who knows someone who's little brother's pet termite is quitting LoL, and that's about it. A few people rage quitting because of bans does not make the entire community to me, so I just want to see where people are pulling these facts from. I've been on Infinite Crisis, a MOBA that DID shrink and die, and League is by no means following any of the trends I noticed during the last hours of that game. So proof please!
