Silver III curse is real...

Saw a few posts about it on here.. How everythings fine going up the ladder until you hit S3, then non stop afks, trolls, and leavers, and or just straight up trash tier players...

I started in Bronze II, went quickly to Silver V, because this year I am taking ranked seriously. Sped straight up to S3 all in 2 days of playing only a few hours. Awesome. Hit S3... wow... I get far better players in B5 than S3..

First 2 games I'm sitting at 0 LP, 2 afks in a row.

3rd game, a troll that feeds 0-20, then the other team blaming us that we are the reasons and actually supports the troll?!

4th game A win..

5th game constant disconnects

6th game trash tier players of a massive level.

7th game, same... and I demote..

aaaaand now I'm done. I went from B2 to S3 in 2 days no issues. Because I'm not a bad player by any means.. Yet... I accumulate more losses in S3 than all the losses combined between B2 to S3 x2, even experiencing far better players in the lower elo's.. what's up with S3?

There's nothing special about Silver III. People say this about whatever tier/division in which they're stuck. Every Bronze division has people claiming they're only Bronze because of their crappy teammates. Every Silver division has people upset about their trash allies. Gold? More of the same. Platinum? Yep. Diamond? Better believe it.

Players are sometimes misplaced during provisionals due to luck. I would assume that those lucky people are stuck in the silver ladder.

You have not been cursed. You were blessed in your 2 days with good teams. I started in Silver V and had the opposite experience. 32 games where I only managed to win 8, despite carrying pretty hard in a lot of them. Game after game where a teammate was afk, or a feeder, or a troll, or our team comp was just poor, or the other team was just better overall.

It's just tough to have a ranking system where you are 1 on a team of 5 and the win or loss is the only thing you are judged on.
