So, why is the Donger not a real champ?
I get this from enemies a lot. Especially after 2 or 3 die trying to dive me. I've never gotten this excuse when playing any other champ.
I even had a Zed tell me this in a 1v1 Custom... A Zed....

The Donger is real. The Donger is life.
They're just jealous about being killed by a short, smart, furry-person. It's like when bullies throw out shitty insults when they feel threatened and stupid IRL.
All hail the Donger.
Heimer is a champ with most of its difficulty wrapped up in planning and execution, as opposed to mechanical skill. From the start of a game, I have to pick my build to best fit the kind of game I expect to be playing with the team comp I have.
I once had a team of 4 premades, all with good AOE, a good initiator, and an Orianna for the team fight wombos. I rushed a Spirit Visage before my Zhonya's, for the extra health regen, and stayed mid all game, forcing them to sacrifice at least one person to prevent me from taking towers, allowing my team to curb stomp the other four champs while taking objectives. The enemy team raged at me so hard for playing a no-skill champ.
Another time, my team was having a hard time, and lacked coordination. I rushed a Deathcap, and ran death bushes all over the place, using my E-ultimate W combo to get someone down, then pretending to leave to let my turrets take out another. They all raged because it wasn't a fair fight, and there was no counterplay.
See a good Heimerdinger is like a good Singed in a way. The biggest counterplay is to walk away, but the problem is that you can't afford to let him take your towers. So you 5-man fight him. But instead of wasting your time on a wild goose chase, he just walks into a bush, ults at least one of you, and eventually dies, hopefully at the cost of more than one of you. The greatest amount of "real" (mechanical) skill he takes is being able to land the E, and the rest is all in the forethought. Although, the E shouldn't be made light of. It is quite challenging to time right. Unless you are playing against Leblanc. Throw it at her return pad when she dives in, so she either stays inside your turrets, or gets an E-W combo to the face. That'll teach her to pay passive like a lamb after the first few times. God I love playing Leblanc mains. They be like "a;uwipgwebfgoyvbaywegblaybwliuebiwfb iwb I CAN"T EVEN FIGHTsapbasifbadib" and its hilarious. Kinda like playing against Riven as a Garen.
probably people think he is so easy a toddler can play him put turrets on the ground profit. takes nearly 0 mechanical prowess to use
is a squishy, immobile little thing who does little fighting of his own. Most assassins and fighters are conditioned to see champions like that as free kills, which is why they rage when you outplay them just by running away and leading them around your turrets. Diving Heimerdinger in the middle of a fully set-up base is one of the worst decisions an opponent could make, especially if he has his ult up, but most people don't realize that as they're focusing on the champion himself, which is also why he's so successful in solo queue.
Honestly, though, even if he might not be perfect, he's one of the quirkiest and most fun champions in the game. If your enemies question the Donger, just activate your swag walk over their bodies and let them bask in the science.
Dong is love, Dong is life srsly doe, its annoying to play against him, but he takes skill, it aint all turrets.
I love my Heimer! <3
Heimer is the type of champion that succeed's more on his opponents skill level rather than the players in most ratings. I've had games where I've dominated because the enemies focus only on me and i've had games where I completely struggle because they took the 2 seconds it takes to clear my turrets first (they're extremely squishy especially against the right champions, I hate you Orianna so much -_- ). It's this reason I almost feel like Heimer is UP despite the high winrate. His turrets are just too squishy I find against someone who knows what they're doing and doesn't just blindly dive me while i'm surrounded by turrets (I might die but i'll get at least 1 kill which gets me rolling). If Riot tweaked Heimer to make the turrets more resilient but Heimer himself more vulnerable so the Heimer play is more about keeping yourself alive (grenade stun supports this a lot) while your turrets do your job and forces enemies to start respecting his turrets (or not) then I think he'd be a better champion.
They are probably mistaking the Donger for the ExpandDong.
I've had several people dodge in ranked when I tried to run Heim top. Never understood it.
I play heim supp. I win heim supp. Heim supp is amazingly amazing.
He's not a real champ because The Donger himself doesn't do anything. It's all his turrets and other miscellaneous technology fighting for him.
