Is It Worth It To Climb To Silver?

(Im bronze 2) Especially now, with DQ, I literally have no friends to play with because they are all jocks and pump iron 24/7, and the friends I do play LoL with don't like ranked because they hate competitiveness. I mean me playing ranked means I have to go through DQ premades and lag a ton. And all I am going to get in silver is a border, that's it. I'm not good enough for gold, or higher at all. Losing in ranked by lag and premades is so aggravating and annoying. I can't even play overwatch or CS:GO because my computer can't handle it. God I hate being a broke college student.

Everyone that complains about DQ being nothing but pre-mades are just looking for an excuse instead of admitting that more than likely they are just bad at the game.

Unless people are literally bragging that they are in a pre-made and/or you are asking every team you go against if they are a pre-made and they answer honestly (unlikely) then most of the time you're probably not against a pre-made.

With proper communication via pings, making use of your wards, and playing safe. It is very possible to beat a pre-made group.

Should you try and rank up? Yes! The more you play vs/with a more competitive group of individuals, the more you'll improve in your own play.

(this is just Bronze-Gold game play, I cannot speak of any rank higher as far as pre-mades)

If you don't think you'll have fun playing ranked definitely don't worry about it. I got up to silver because I was having fun playing unconventionals and stuff. But lag definitely isn't fun.

In your situation, if you lag, I would say it is not worth it to try to climb out of Bronze. Silver and Bronze are both pretty similar in terms of skill until you get to about Silver II and I. Those players are typically much better than everyone below them and probably are a couple of win streaks away from moving up to Gold V.

Your play experience would not change too much climbing to silver. Bronze players are all over the board, but they are a bit more mistake prone than Silver players. You might find less toxicity in Bronze, I am not sure. My experience on my smurf was that silver has a lot of players trying to get to Gold for the end of the season rewards and most players are dicks if they losing and think they are better than their rank. In Bronze, most players are either smurfs with a new account or accept their current skill and seem to play for fun more often.

Oh and premades are not that rampant despite people complaining about them. It is pretty simple to look up if you were playing against a premade by just going to http://na.op.gg/ and looking up the opponents match history to see if they played in a group in the past several games.

Besides, premades typically play against other premades and the higher your Elo the more common it is because there is a smaller pool of players from which to draw. I can understand the SoloQ player complaining about premades on the opposing team, but it is likely they have a premade on their team as well if that is the case.

Even then, premades only become a problem in maybe Platinum or Higher. In gold I run into premades when I play in a premade of 3-5. Which at that point, I think the teams are even. I think it is hardest to play ranked with more than 3. Three seems to be the magic number of not running into a full set of 5 or 4, but probably being simply paired against a duo or trio.

Gold players are a bunch of douch bags that think they are good when they are nothing but average at best.
