I don't like MMR.
I don't like it at all. Why can't silver 5 people play silver 5 people and diamond 5 people play diamond 5 people? I think it would be much better.

I recently came back from a long break (like 3 months) to play a few games. I got demoted to Bronze due to inactivity.
First win got me to Silver, right now my wins are giving me ~30 IP and the game I lost went down like 12.
My MMR hasn't changed, but the league around me has. Silver V, months ago, was a higher MMR than it is right now, so I'm solo queing against people 4-5 levels (Silver II to Gold) above me.
I feel that MMR is working for me. I haven't had a problem winning 3 of my past 4 ranked games, I'm clearly better than the other people in SV, I just don't have time to play my way out of it. Long ques, duo'ing and smurfs throw the whole system off, though, and some games feel really unfair, but MMR is at least helping that a little bit.
Becuase there is a difference between MMR and LP. What you describe is just focusing on LP which isn't a good indicator of skill. MMR is much better. Yet because people think there is a difference between Gold 5 and Gold 4 they think LP is better. In reality MMR gives you fairer fights than LP would any day.
you dont like it because you're not good
isn't MMR more similar to the old elo system we used to have?
