@Riot, if you really don't want to be held accountable for DCs, Lag & Crashes this needs to happen.

Players should have to go through a 3-part check system before being eligible to join a Ranked Queue.

  1. File check. It needs to make sure that all necessary Direct X versions have been installed and that the game files are complete and not corrupted.

  2. System check. It needs to make sure players aren't going to be loading into games with their shitty school laptops at 15 FPS.

  3. Ping check. It needs to make sure people aren't going to start complaining about lag before minions even spawn.

Why does this need to be implemented? Riot needs to be accountable for its players' actions. Right now a player can spend the whole game with Consistently high ping, constant disconnects and crashes/FPS drops because (if the game files are corrupt or if someone is using a computer that doesn't meet the system requirements) and Riot's response is simply:

"gee that's a shame, sorry about the 20 LP you and your 3 other innocent teammates lost because a player didn't have the moral conscience to run a ping check before joining a game with 4 other people".

If people were made ineligible to join a Ranked Queue because they'd inevitably be a burden to a team by default, Riot will effectively have covered their asses because they've actually made an effort on their part to maintain the competitive integrity of the game. If someone passes through the check and their ping starts spiking in-game then Riot can justifiably state that it was due to unforeseen and uncontrollable circumstances. I'd be content with this because, as much as it would still suck, the frequency of the occurrence would have drastically decreased.

I wholeheartedly agree man. This should be easier to implement once the new client is up and running.

Oh, and how about they just reintegrate the Portland server so people on the West Coast don't play with 100-2000 ping?

I wonder how difficult this would be to do. It might not be feasible, but I do like your thinking.

Just a ping check would save many a game for me.

What about Rito improve their server and develop less buggy client so people with <30 normal ping and decent computer won't get random lag spikes or have client crashed?
