Not true....I went 34 matches without talking in league and only talking to my friends on curse or skype when I duo'd. I said gg in one game and got reported by the enemy team 5 times. Had a 42 game chat restriction.

It's a competitive game and if you keep doing the same stupid shit over and over and over then I am going to let you know about it.

Not everyone thinks like you people who say to just not talk. I am not a passive dismissive apathetic person like so many are.

If you do not care that some asshats is screwing your game up and wasting your time then you have no business playing with other people in a competitive atmosphere, regardless the mode.

This is the biggest reason that Lytes system is crap and doesn't work. It is not a fair system at all. But if we want to play those games where you actually have ten people that know wtf they are doing we have to deal with it because those are the games that people who do care are looking for.

Casual gamers have and always will be the worst type of gamer for the true gamer population but the best gamer for the companies who make the games because most of them are dumb, stupid, and apathetic gold mines.

Perhaps so, but there are many different ways to handle that - and many of them aren't toxic.

Here's the thing, though: The system does work. It does almost exactly what Riot wants it to. It's just that their priorities are not the same as your priorities.

Keep telling yourself that. I am sure the reason for the reward bans are because the system has not worked and Lyte is now using extreme measures to save face. Unlike you, I am not naïve as hell and understand how the world works.

The system has failed and you will see that in the near future. We live in a trophy generation so hit them where it hurts most and take their rewards. I could care less about virtual rewards. This trophy generation can't.

And yes their priority is to make money and appease the majority. I understand that. It just so happens that the majority are the casual gamers who ruin the game for other people. There will always be more of them type of players.

I tell you one thing, I promise you I will stick it out till I just can't deal with it anymore just like I did with Blizzard. I have not touched a Blizzard game since they totally screwed up WoW and that's been 5 years.

I smell the same thing happening with RIOT.

If you say so. Seems to me, though, that the system is fulfilling their exact stated intentions. And considering that this is the second season that they've denied EoS rewards for punished players, I don't think it's particularly indicative of anything - except that they've decided that a wide-spectrum system would be more effective than one with only a single tool at its disposal.

I could care less what happens with my loss. My piece of mind from years of dealing with coddled casual players will be intact. I felt better after leaving Blizzard and if I get to feeling the same way with Riot it will be that same feeling. I could care less if my loss does anything or not. Sorry to disappoint you but I am more important than you and people like you as far as my life is concerned.

I should hope you are! Just as I should hope you would recognize that I am more important than you as far as my own life is concerned. It's a rare person that puts the emotional welfare of strangers entirely above their own.

Of course, that's where the concept of "enlightened self-interest" comes into play, but that's a discussion for another time, I think.

Actually, there have been testimonies that not talking is punishable under the "Refused to Communicate" report.

So, apparently, people have been banned from talking for not talking.

Refusal to Communicate isn't punishable. That particularly report option actually doesn't do anything - and it's slated to be removed in the not-too-distant future.

I don't think it's actually getting removed, regardless of what's been said. It's the same reason Unskilled Player still exists: to have an appealing option for reporters to use instead of clogging up important report categories like verbal abuse with "he fed"

It's possible, I suppose. It wouldn't much surprise me.

But I feel that, rather than try to guess what may be, it's usually best to simply report what has been stated by those making the decisions.

If this were true... then chat restricted people could get (validly) reported every single game.

Pings DO count as communication. I chat little, but I do ping.

I've played this game for 5 years or so and I don't have a "Don't talk" policy or anything like that, I just treat people the way I'd like to be treated, has worked wonders for me. It's almost as if...I don't know, you might be at fault if you're reported and it goes through.

Knowing people here, it's the system's fault, of course.
