Good call out from you guys on this one. The new name will be much more thematic and fitting for Dario chop man.
Now it's more lore-related and less disturbingly painful.
Any chance of getting a change on cut-throat for talon?
(The name I mean)
Seriously? Why haven't they changed the name of cut-throat to hamstring?
or "achilles-steel"
or "Oops, mb"
Or just reworking the ability to interrupt channels. tbh at first going against kat was hard since the nerfs but Ive adapted to it (Poke her hard pre 6 so you have a lot of kill potental so she cant just fuck you over)
well "Kneecap" only works for guns really, and "Cutankle" doesnt really roll off the tongue that well
If I remember correctly, the guy who wrote the patch notes for when they removed Talon's silence suggested "foot stab". I'm all for naming Talon's E Foot Stab.
That's Downright Daw-rius.
Does this mean
can get a name change to his "cutthroat" as well? I remember talks about changing the name and Icon and it just kinda got put into limbo. There is an elephant in the room, and its name is cutthroat .__.
Fit for the guy who doesn't deal damage.
the old one sounded better because it made the passive self explanatory
I suppose it's fitting, but what were some of the other ideas you all had?
WE DID IT REDD
Wait, this isn't reddit?
WE DID IT BOARDS?!?

Wait, this isn't reddit?
WE DID IT BOARDS?!?
Terrifying, I know.
Let's face it.
We're basically reddit.
Except our memes are gooder
memes are for 12 year olds
exactly
I'm 21 and what is this?
Nah man, I come here for legit discussions. I go to Reddit for my daily dose of dank memes.
I used to acknowledge the existence of reddit.
But then I ate some oranges and it was k.
Good work on Darry!
Hey, I did it! http://38.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lknko69MFq1qhrjqn.gif
I took your suggestion to heart.
<3
We had a lot of names that were along this vein during development and I just turned a blind eye to them since I was so focused on the gameplay.
Hopefully this better matches everyone's expectations out of Darius.
Its really awesome that you guys take the community advice and do these changes.
That being said
But at this point its probably to late to ever go back ): rip spray and pray.
But you guys seem to work with the community the majority of the time and do an amazing job. The little things matter :V!
I wish people got behind my idea of turning "Titanic Hydra -> Ladon".
We did talk about that one. Conclusion was that Ladon didn't have the widespread recognition, and was more Greek myth/less fantasy than we wanted to go. Was certainly a really solid suggestion though.

I have been witnessed! :D
At least it was considered!
Valhalla is Nordic, not Greek. Come on man, at least stick with the same mythological themes. ;)

Any chance it WILL be getting a rename? It's just odd, seeing that it's currently the only Legendary Tier item that shares part of its name with something else (save for Frozen Heart and Frozen Mallet). It's a little confusing because both items are VERY similar, but you can't quickly tell someone "Buy Hydra" any more.
If you're looking at monsters I'd suggest Nidhogg, Orochi, Typhon, or Jormungandr. Anything to get us the distinction of item uniqueness back, I feel.
I mean, it's FAR from a dealbreaker, but someone about it just doesn't sit 100% right with me.
I'm not calling out fucking jormungandr every time I think someone should build that. yes jormungandr is badass, but I prefer titanic hydra over titanic jormungandr, clarification requirement and all.

I'd suggest cutting the "Titanic" part if you went with that name, just like how "Tiamat" is just "Tiamat." I think it's the weakest of the suggestions though, due to the difficulty in pronounciation.
Jormungandr is always a mouthful. Still puzzling over the pronunciation.
Nidhogg is probably the most recognized name out of those, except maybe Typhon, because percy jackson.
Also,Hail Hydra.
Cut off one
two new items shall take its' place.
Have you thought about the confusion of having 2"Hydra" items in the game?
I understand thematically their use is similar, on 2 different classes though. But previously, Ravenous Hydra was almost exclusively referred as Hydra, even on competitive streams.
Once this hits the pro scene and gets built, it is definitely going to make some confusing situations, and unlike Ravenous, Titanic doesnt sound quite as good a name by itself.
"He built a Ravenous" - Decent "He built a Titanic" - Umm, the cruise ship? Weird.
How about Leviathan? The old item using that name disappeared a long time ago.
Whoever gave the original suggestion needs to be given a cookie.
Omg this is awesome! See, Riot really does listen!!!
I saw this as well. It fits Thematically, I approve.
Well, it should be called "The not-so-might noxian", he deos 0 damage right now :D

Honestly its less of that (he does pretty great damage if he can actually get all 5 stacks); just that he has so much difficulty in getting his stacks.
I'm glad they're making it easier to get the stacks by increasing his AS per level a bit, now all they need to do is remove the heal on Q and boost its damage some more to compensate.
Would really like to also see E apply a stack of hemorrhage to all pullled targets to be honest (why does being violently yanked backwards with an axe not draw blood?)
I hope you're joking
