How to make supporting fun?

I just can't enjoy it when I get forced to do it, I often end up doing stupid shit when I support because I just find it so God damn boring :/ how do i make it more enjoyable

as a support main i recommend playing aggro support champs that you can harass with. i like lulu, karma, and leona. lulu and karma are kinda squishy but have good poke and harass. leona is tanky and you can harass with her and have good peel for the adc. hope this helps.

I find that a lot of people who despise support hate it because they don't feel like they're directly making a dent in the enemy team. The "if I don't have double digit kills and a 3+ KDA, it's not fun" mentality. While not the same, a similar sense of screwing over the enemy can be gained in the support role. "How can my actions frustrate the enemy team?" You don't need to get the kills, but there's a hostile perspective to even the most benign support actions.

Heals and shields - boring and non-aggressive? Nah. "KILL DENIED. WHO WON THAT TRADE NOW?"
Warding - boring and demeaning? Nah. "AMBUSH DENIED. STAY OUT OF OUR JUNGLE. WHILE YOU'RE AT IT, STAY OUT OF YOURS!"
Clearing wards - boring and time-consuming? Nah. "VISION DENIED. AM I IN THE FOG ALONE, OR ARE WE ALL IN HERE?" Also, yay gold!

Just flip the KDA around. It's not 100% the same, but you'll know you contributed. Personally, I prefer setting up kills for the rest of my team. It's just satisfying when a stun, soak, heal, and/or bait interferes with the enemy long enough for the rest of my team to splatter them. Yeah, my ADC just got a pentakill, but that's only because I managed to CC 3 of them and shield him from the 4th while the 5th was wasting his time killing me. He got the Ks, I got the As, and the enemy got the QQs.

TL;DR: There isn't just one way to enjoy supporting. I like to see it as making my teammates look good, but you can easily view the role as "what can I do to piss the enemy off without being the primary damage dealer?"

Nothing feels better than landing the REQW on Soraka while watching your adc 1v3 for the triple kill :')

Well yeah it is but shhhh don't tell the ADC it might hurt their ego. As far as they're concerned, they did all the work. A happy ADC is a good ADC. [slayer-jinx-wink]

Support (and jungle), imo, are the most cerebral roles in the game. You control the map; the difference is, support is typically centered around the bottom side of the map for most of lane phase, where the jungler is able to go to other lanes but also needs to farm. You can play support where you just babysit your ADC, but that's probably the most dull way to play the game. You don't have to be Bard to roam. You also control the flow of bot lane; unless you really have a proactive ADC, you're the one making most of the opportunities.

I find that when I roam, my adc can't handle it and ends up dead.

You have to find the right times to roam, not just whenever you feel like it.

I honestly find it more difficult to roam as Bard, since I just want to run around collecting chimes instead of actually doing stuff

Well you have to have a support somewhere or else bot lane will be out sustained and lose lane too quick.

Whenever I support now I play aggro supports, Zyra Annie and usually end up to a point where I can solo kill just about anyone on the enemy team, just grab a sight stone and then it's damage from then on.
