Just had a game and I need Lyte to explain something

Where 4th pick said "idc im adc" even though we already had one in. Somebody check his lolking and he has done it the past 5 games and many other times before it. Basically every time that he didn't get adc. Luckily someone on our team dodged the que, but this dude is going to troll another game.

Riot, how is this not considered toxic behavior and a bannable offense? Why do you defend these players and then punish the people that tell them to stop trolling?

Edit: Woohoo. Just got another one that went duo mid cuz he trolling. Is he going to get punished for it? Nope :D Why? Because riot wants League to be toxic :D

Edit #2: Just had another to laner that lost lane so he started intentionally feeding. Said, "Idc, im just feeding on purpose now". Why don't you punish him Lyte? I will see that he still plays games without being banned. He might get a chat restriction bcuz he was a dick, but that is all. Why don't you punish trolls as well as toxic players?

Please explain to me how they're defending them? I mean, I could see you make the argument of tacitly allowing them (though it is a punishable behavior, and people have been banned/restricted for it, so there's a pretty strong counter to that argument). But nothing in what you say indicates that Riot is somehow protecting those people specifically, so I don't really understand where that argument is coming from.

Simple scenario here. You have a player that is very obviously trolling, such as going duo mid because he wanted mid so he autolocked with last pick. The proceeds to feed because the original mid is better at last hitting than he is, so he gets no cs or kills. Your top laner says, "da fuq X, stop trolling". You duo mid laner than says, "/all report x for verbal". After the game, both players get reported. Riot sees this and says, "It's ok duo mid laner, you just had a bad game. He didn't have to be a dick to you." Top laner gets chat banned and duo mid laner is free to troll another game. I would call that defending.

And do you have evidence that this exact scenario happened? Because... well... that's not really how things work, usually. In fact, given that situation, both players would (and should) be punished - assuming that that single line is not all the top laner said, and that the duo mid made picks like that fairly regularly.

Again: troll-picking is punishable (as is intentional feeding, as you seem to be describing in your example), and I've seen players banned and restricted for it.

Of course, verbal abuse (berating, bashing, belittling, etc) is also punishable, and I'm sure everyone's seen plenty of bans and restrictions for that.

To clarify that first paragraph: Assuming that the only thing the top-laner said to or about the duo mid was "da fuq X, stop trolling", it's likely that he'd receive a sanction for that game. Of course, it takes far more than a single game's reports to trigger a review - specifically, it takes being reported in some 12-25% of games. When there is a difference of that sort, it tends to be thus: the troll player doesn't behave that way regularly or consistently enough to earn enough reports to have a case built against him - while the other tends to rant far more often, and thus does earn enough reports for a case.

I think that that in champ select, there should be a report button, and if more than 3 people report a person, the queue is dodged. Then, the chat logs are sent to the tribunal (please fix it) and the person can be banned or punished in a way.

That could be abused in higher elos. If you get a favorable matchup, then 3 ppl will just report and dodge lol.

because riots logic is just like irl law the guy whos robbing your house or trying to kill you also has the right to sue you if you defend yourself or hurt him in any way

at least thats how it works in my country (never hit a robber)
