How the fuck do I get blue essence?

I spent 15 dollars and opened 10 chests, and they were all skin shard...

Is it just bad luck or is it because I already have most champions in the game?

I really need help because i cant get blue essence and it would be awesome if someone could explain to me how to get blue essence besides getting champion shards
