What's Riot's idea behind permabanning accounts for "toxicity"?

So that they will make new names and harass new players? I just don't get it. Obviously with all the punishments and "warnings" they received, they aren't going to change. If you don't stop being "toxic" (I use this word loosely with how strict their policy is becoming) after a 14 day ban knowing a permaban is next, do you really think a permaban is going to stop them? They will just create a new account and harass the new players that are just starting.

Ranked ban (escalate to perma if you feel the need) for people that intentionally feed/troll. Normal ban for people that continue to troll normals after their ranked ban. Bot game ban for people that continue to troll co-op games (they can play customs). Chat ban (escalate to perma if you feel the need) for people that you think are "toxic" (even though 1-3 will help with this more than anything else).

It really doesn't have to be complicated.

Or they'll stop playing. Having to start over with no skins, champions, or runes is rough, especially at level 1. You'd also lose all previous ranked rewards, limited edition/legacy content, and your friend list (and all Honor). Furthermore, your ranking and normal MMR will start over. You were Platinum/Diamond in ranked? Not anymore! Sure, some people will make a new account, but if they keep being toxic Riot will ban them again, so they'll have to start over yet again. Eventually they might give up and stop playing, which is what Riot wants them to do.

Well if you spent like 50$ on skins, the person is probably gonna realize that the punishment was pretty severe.

implying banning them to bots isn't the same as perma banning think they won't do the same thing after

Specific mode bans seems like an ok idea. Go pitch it directly to Lyte on his ask.fm.

As for what he has already said about permanent chat restrictions not doing much; http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/f/cIfEodbz/d/45xUUKxk?comment=000400000001

so If I got normal and ranked Banned I would then remake my account. What are some actual good ideas. Just so you know I'm one of the most toxic people ever and I just know how not to get banned because I'm not an idiot I make sure to stay with in the confines of not banning

its suppose to be a punishment. If you break the rules you have to suffer the consequences. only being able to play a certain mode isnt really a punishment. because they can still play on their account. I feel like permabanning their account is the right thing to do especially if they spent money on the account. People have that mindset that just because they spent real money means they are void of any type of punishment. its childish. I find it very hard to even get a warning in this game. just dont type anything, how hard is that to do? But back on topic especially with this game, leveling up to 30 in a clean slate is hard. you have no champions aside from free week rotation, no nice skins, no runes/masteries at first. you need to get IP all over again to get the things you want. Or spend even more money to get everything back. its suppose to annoying you to the point of quitting all together, or learning from your mistakes!
