Why doesn't support just give out chat logs?
Just seems like a common sense thing to do in my opinion.

Riot has stated multiple times that the system for automatically generating chat logs is tied to Tribunal. While Tribunal is down they have to have people go in and manually pull chat logs, edit them to remove internal information, and put it into a format they can send to you. So they're not automatically doing this for every ban that goes out -- Player Support would spend all their time editing chat logs rather than doing useful things.
That said, if they knew Tribunal was going to be down for months and months it seems like they should have put some effort into developing a better solution for getting people logs.
Well tits, if you're going to downvote, at least say why you think that they should not...
