How to Transition from a high gold (4 or 5) to gold 1 - plat 4-5 player

New season is here and the grinding has begun once again. Not sure about you fine folks but my grind is going much better than in the past. After sneaking into gold during the preseason and dropping back to silver 5 I already find myself back in silver 1 with a failed gold promos attempt. I am confident I will get back into gold its just a matter of when (hopefully sooner rather than later). But I figure the only way to make this easier is if I continue to improve and become a better player. With the season reset ranks are still messed up so that is where the question in the title comes in.

How to Transition from a high gold (4 or 5) to gold 1 - plat 4-5 player?. http://www.lolking.net/summoner/na/23340687#matches. You can pull up my lolking or op.na.gg or whatever service you use. As you can see my last game as support Morgana went really poorly. The enemy team picked Nautilus early so I picked Morgana as a counter? (just thinking about blackshield). I will admit it was more of a panic pick and a comfort pick as I rose through silver into gold at the end of last season playing morgana support. However, to my surprise the enemy actually picked MonkeyKing support. it was the first time I have faced MonkeyKing as a support so it made me uneasy. I also was missing my snares like crazy and just felt really out classed. Also, to my surprise the enemy team had 3 season 5 plat players. I know with the rank reset everyone dropped a tier and although its been roughly a month players are all not back to their actual elos yet. This has become apparent in silver 1 as although I have grown accustomed to playing with gold players I am starting to play vs and with more & and more plat players. I know one option is to just wait a few weeks until ranks are back to normal and then climb but.... lets face it I want to get better. I want to be able to play at a mid gold elo or higher and continue to learn the game. In the past I sat in silver 2-3 for a couple of years blaming my teammates and generally getting frustrated with climbing. Although I know some of that is to come the only thing that made me climb and made ranked more fun was me opening up my mind and realizing just how bad I was and making some changes to get better. Obviously I am still really bad, so I would like to grow and continue to get better at this game. I have no desire nor skill to get master or diamond but I would like to get better and maybe make a run a plat one day in the future. Anyways, any advice is greatly appreciated. Since I got side tracked I will describe what happened in that last ranked Morgana game and why I am frustrated with my play.

Last ranked game FYI: Anyways I was doing poorly bot missing snares and trying to get some poke on wukong & vayne while staying alive. I knew once wukong hit 6 we would have a problem. Meanwhile our XinZhao was ganking top and mid and getting some kills. When xin was 6-0 or 6-1 I thought we might have a good chance of winning. However, the enemy Leblanc bounced back and starting getting kills. Also, enemy jungler LeeSin started making some plays and the enemy top Nautilus made a nice tp bot gank and tanking the crap out of turrets, us, everything everywhere (been playing nat support when dudes not stealing him from me). Anyways, game ended, lp went down along with my confidence. And now the rambling is done.

consider a question mark when asking a question.. I honestly thought you were giving advice then the whole post was "I got dunked" lol. But on a serious note, I'm gold 5 right now, last week I was Gold 1. Gold is just a bad place to be right now, dynamic made it possible for bronzes to get boosted by 5 manning but they can't make it past gold. The only thing that may help is grouping up with some friends as well. Also if you're gonna play Morgana the biggest tip is just don't miss those snares.
