Does anyone have any advise when dealing with people that are tunnel visioned on the meta?

I just had a friend that did not want to play ranked with me because I wanted to go jungle Nautilus. I have played it a lot lately, and am very confident in the pick. But still he said no, which is odd to me because I don't think he has even seen a Nautilus jungle lately, but maybe that is the problem.

Essentially the conversation ended on a really bad note, and we did not play League, which was my decision because he was just assaulting me with salt about the pick, and I did not want to play with someone who is going to act like that.

The guy is pretty chill, and I like playing ranked with him, but I need to know how to deal with his meta only view of ranked.

When talking rank play a lot of people get worried when they hear a pick like naut Jg. I seen it and it is worthy. I guess sense it is your friend go play without him and show him the stats after. If your solo and not trolling then ignoring is good with mute. I went jhin top other day and Jg swore me up and down. I muted him, played the game and against a garen and we won and I had 0 deaths. I was confident in it and had done it before and good with jhin.
