First off, I go 6-4 in promos and drop down to silver (for whatever reason). Then I work my way into promo matches....
And get matched up against s4 plats. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK? How on earth are you going to say I don't deserve to advance to silver 2 because I only went 2/1 against a 4 Plat team. This game is getting to be really annoying....

cody dong1 votesRiot is really strict about your division placing after your provisionals this season. It's only possible to get one division higher than the division that you got in season 4. For example, if I was silver 3 last season, the highest division that's possible for me to get into once I finish my provisionals is silver 2.

OhBoyItsaMegaman1 votesProtip: Plat border does not mean S4 Plat. It means they completed promos to Plat V at some point during the season, then stayed above Gold V until the cutoff date. Their MMR could have been mid-Gold, low Gold, or even Silver when the reset happened, and then they were pushed even lower.
You're complaining skill, MMR, and division are not perfectly lining up 2 days after the reset happened. Give it some time; you have unreasonable expectations.

It is unreasonable right now, because the reset was 2 days ago.
imaqtpie is streaming right now (link) on his account B1g Kr1T. He is Diamond V. Do you think that's accurate? Of course not. Why is he Diamond V? Because he's only 28 games into the season. The longer the season goes on, the more everyone plays, the more accurate the MMR and divisions will become. Right now, it is unreasonable to expect matchmaking to put people of appropriate skill levels into your games. That is the point of the reset. This is unacceptable to some people, and those people can (and should) play normals for a month until things are all sorted out.

You said S4 plat, but the only way you could know that is by looking them up. When you do, you are seeing their S4 reward (what border they have), not their actual MMR at the end of the preseason.

OhBoyItsaMegaman1 votesYou cannot look up people's MMR. You can go on an external site and look up that site's estimate of a player's MMR. That estimation is not always reliable because it is not based off of the same formulas that Riot uses to calculate your actual MMR. They also do not know Riot's formula for the soft reset. This is the point in the season when those calculations are going to be the most inaccurate.
In the 2/1 Fiddlesticks game where you lost to 4 S4 Plats, your previous 10 games were 8W-2L. 4 out of the 5 people on the other team had negative W/L records so far this season. The only Plat V opponent in that game (others were G3 or lower) was 2W-8L leading up to that game, and his duo partner was 3W-7L. You met when you were rocketting up and they were rocketting down. Their MMR was below their rank, your MMR was above your rank. Your MMR was equal or close to theirs.
So as I was trying to say, neither their current rank nor their S4 rank represented their actual MMR. The game put you all in a game together and expected it to be about a 50/50 chance. They happened to win, you happened to lose, their MMR went up a little, your MMR went down a little, and the Earth spins on.
