Why do new players start with a silver ELO?
I don't understand this concept. I am in no way shape or form an outstanding league player so please don't think I am writing this because I believe that I am a superior individual.
I find it unfair to both new players and more experienced players to place new players in a silver ELO.
The first season I played league of legends I won 6/10 placement games (I don't know how). I was then placed in silver 2. I was very terrible at league in my first year and probably deserved to be in bronze. Any way I then proceeded to play ranked (A lot) and probably won 1 out of 5 ranked games and I plummeted down to silver 5.
Now I am not trying to say that all players suck as much dick as I did when I started but hear me out.
I basically think its unfair because one, New players who do suck like me (which I'd say a little over half do) are forced to play with people slightly higher skilled than they are resulting in them doing poorly, not having a fun time, getting flammed, ETC.
The Experienced players who worked their way up into silver have to deal with all the new unskilled players who often feed because well they are not experienced enough to do well quite yet.
Any way I personally believe that new players should begin with a bronze ELO. If they lose all of their placements they should be placed in bronze 5, in they win half bronze 3 or 2, and if they win all or most they should get bronze 1 or silver 5. Honestly climbing out of bronze is more difficult because you have these rocks falling from the top of the ELO mountain hitting you in the face as they plummet down to the bronze they belong in. They don't take a kid whos only skated twice in his life and stick him in the NHL.
Basically start people at the bottom. people who deserve to climb will and people who don't will get better and eventually climb themselves. cheers just my opinion don't hate me.
