The lich king and why lore is important

In world of warcraft they made the most money and players were happiest when the game was rich in lore and there was a purpose to playing. You wanted to kill the lich king so bad.

League of legends however used to be rich in lore and now they are going in the opposite direction and taking away all lore from the game and making it make no sense. We like lore riot. We like a purpose. Even though it's irrelevant to the game play of the game it isn't. When your mid playing kayle vs Morgana you secretly feel like you have to win and it's an epic battle. When your playing rengar vs a khazix you must have his head. Little things like this mean so much more than you give credit for and the game is getting more and more boring. I've played this game for 4 years now. I'm watching it go down the direction of a boring game.

Yes people will always play league but if another game comes out that is even or better and league becomes boring then you will lose half the community easy. As it is most of the players who play league used to play wow.

...Are you serious? If anything there is MORE of an emphasis on lore now more than ever.

Starting with Azir, the completely overhauled: Nasus, Renekton, Xerath, Sivir, and Cassiopeia. Then they overhauled Bildgewater: Gangplank, Miss Fortune, Twisted Fate, Graves, and Illaoi. Around the same time they also overhaulled the Shadow Isle lore: Hecarim, Karthus, Kalisa, Mordekaiser, and Thresh. They've relaunched 2 characters and given them new lores to go with it: Sion and Poppy.

They're also said they want to establish Piltover better, so that could potentially include: Caitlyn, Vi, Jinx, Ekko, Jayce, and more.

Riot have actively said themselves they are working on better lore and building more connected world, and they are.

I think lore matters to a lot less people than you think...
