It's just super hard to wait for the jungler.
I think it's a psychological thing. You are announcing that you are going to gank. The first part registers at once. the part about "AFTER clearing jungle" doesn't register as well. The confidence boost and the hope of an incoming gank lets ppl do stupid things. Its quite interesting. Best thing is not to type it. Head to top jungle, clear it, look at the state of the lane and THEN decide if you are gonna gank. Then go there and ping as you get there, not before. if you ping before you are in range, some ppl go right into action and die as you arrive. its a precious balance.
this happens all the time to me. or they push there lane really hard. then say i dont gank
