Forget the normal complaints, here's one of the core problems with the new HUD.
"I don't like this." Why not?
"Information isn't there." "Information is cluttered." "The map has too much going on." "Where's my CS?"
All legitimate concerns. Well, except for a lack of information, which is untrue, as it is still there, just moved.
But that's not the problem.
My issue has to do with eye-gernomics....
Pun aside, the flow of the map is, has always been, and will continue to be, from the bottom left corner to the top right corner. Yes, you've freed up the bottom left and the top right, which is conducive to being able to physically see more of the map, but in doing so, you've placed the information in the other two corners, which aren't in the natural "swing" of your eyes. Yes, seeing the view of the lanes is better, and I'll be the one to go against the crowd and say moving the stuff from the bottom left is a plus, but the top right corner wasn't intrusive, being a tiny strip, and it is physically more effort and less efficient for you to move your eyes to the bottom right corner.
That's really my only complaint. I feel like most of the hate to the new HUD is simply due to change, which happens with any change. It's not natural. But despite this, I feel the positioning of CS and team KD is very cruical to have put in a good spot, and right now, the bottom right hand corner simply isn't it.
