Can i just get a retail version of LoL?
I think this game would be so much better if it just had a retail version of 50 - $60, including ALL runes and a set number of champs(or set amount of IP to buy whatever champs you like), but 0 skins. Then from their you would have to earn the "DLC" champs (to put it in perspective), which would be similar to how it is now. I feel having all runes, plus a select number of champs unlocked, allow people to be on a somewhat level playing field. I've been playing an unhealthy amount of LoL for over a year, and i still don't have all runes or champs, which limits my ability to experiment and get better. It also puts people at severe disadvantage to actually learn the game, example: I want to try full Crit damage rune gangplank!, this forces them to grind for weeks, just to try a build that isn't optimal. Even if people didn't want to buy the full version, they could still play for free, but for NORMAL PEOPLE WITH JOBS who can pay atleast $60 for a game with a limited campaign experience( the witcher series), could do so. And this would also limit people using bots to farm and sell accounts.
This game is supposed to be about skill, not who has played longer and acquired more runes..
Edit: Afterthought, it's not necessarilly about NEEDING every rune, its about fully experiencing the game and trying new things as well. Not every player plays with the #LCSBIGPLAYS play style. For a large portion of the community, its about having an off meta build in mind, and having access to do it.
If you don't need the runes, you wouldn't be forced to buy, its only for people who would want it. You still have the option to grind for years to acquire what you want.
I have more reasons why a retail version would benefit all, but what do you think? Would you buy a retail price version?
Don't downvote, without leaving a reason why.
