I very commonly see Evelynn and Zyra, too. The former makes some sense, I guess, because she's not simple. Zyra is similar because she's all skillshots that travel at different speeds, with an ult that can be kind of difficult to land (and use to its full extent).
But I don't get the bans on Yorick or Poppy. At all. Yorick is effortless. He has no skillshots. He just spams all his skills nonstop. I don't get this pick in the least, I can't even conceive of why people pick him. Is it because his ult is kind of strange?
Poppy has lots of potential to ruin your day, too, and she's not particularly difficult. I watch a team focus her as if they think something different will happen.
I don't believe there are "bad" champions. In this context, Urgot can clean up, Gangplank can...do whatever Gangplank does (I'm honestly not sure, but I've seen whatever it is work sometimes), Kennen's ult is beyond frustrating, and the same goes for Olaf's. In a teamfight, Kennen's ult is not something you want to run straight into. Give Olaf enough time to farm and he can become a serious carrier for the obvious reason that he can be immune to all disables.
I dunno, I feel like people have never known what they're doing in Rift, and this necessary adjustment they're making is throwing them off. A team can get five supports and they'll still put two at bot. Why. WHY. They can't even answer why, they're just used to that.
