Elo on fresh compared to main

How can I struggle to even hit Gold on my existing account but can manage mid Gold on a fresh account? I don't understand how that works.

If you have a large volume of games on an account your mmr is fairly established. That means when a season soft resets you will still be in between the mid point and your old mmr and that your LP/MMR changes will be slightly muted compared to an unestablished account. If you were bronze generally you'll be bronze again.

On a fresh account this isn't the case. A fresh account starts with a roughly mid silver MMR. Because it's a fresh account it also moves MMR much easier allowing for a quicker climb or fall initially than an established account.

TL;DR, For short term changes in rank/mmr, a fresh account is easier to move. However it quickly becomes established itself so long term there is no real difference in climbing.

That makes sense, but if I do just as good in Gold 3 as I do in Silver 3, this means I will eventually climb into Gold? During the season I never really had the mechanics or champion pool to really climb, but have gotten better and broadened my champion pool significantly. During the season I could only play jg/mid reliably. Now I can play all roles without feeling like I am gimping my team and have at least 2-3 champions that I can do well on for each. Obviously I can play more jungle champions since I've played that role the most, but for everything else, it's around 2-3.

Yes. If you continually maintain a winrate higher than your loss rate you will eventually climb to gold with that other account as well(I'm assuming you have a positive win ratio, because if it's negative you will demote instead).

Because you weren't likely to be put against people of a similar skill set in a new acc (as you have no game history match making is less effective).

Though what I'm saying is merely speculation as i cannot definitively give an answer.

You know how hard it is to lose in silver? I only play fun champs on my alt, tf adc, ori support, etc.. And still can't lose :) it's like you have to intentionally feed to lose in silver
