Why are the words cancer and aids censored? Like are they swear words in this day and age?

well seeing as there is a pretty solid chance that you werent using them in any context that isnt offensive; then yes.
aids, cancer, and suicide, have become a literal joke for young kids as they most likely dont understand the severity of these words.
