all you can do is deal with it. I also dont like playing vs gold and plats in normals cause its boring but im not always in a mood to play ranked so i cope with it.

Oh.. then dont cope with it sit down and improve. nothing more to talk about. you either have high mmr(aka you better than your current division) or he had low mmr(he is worse than his current division) also i suggest not looking up rank's before games treat everyone the same and dont get scared if someone is a bit higher

I used to be gold 3, I just barely play league anymore so I'v lost skill

that's your fault bud. i've lost my skill aswel cuz i stopped playing on a competitive level so im stuck in diamond 4 now nothing i can except imrpove again
