this game is starting to remind me of Runescape...
No, im not talking about the game itself, but whats happening/happened to it. You see, Runescape used to be one of the most popular MMORPGs back in 2006-ish, but now it gets less than half the number of the players it used to every day. Now, if you ask around the Internets, opinions about why Runescape lost all its players vary, but these are the most common I've found:
-
they made changes people didn't like. They changed the combat system to make it "better" but it had a lot of problems. It could take almost twice as long to kill something, it was more interactive/required more focus (which made using bots harder and rendered all previous bots useless)
-
tried to cater to a different audience. it was less RPG and more MMO (focused less on quests and more on grinding and hitting max level (among other things)) which brought in new players but alienated older players.
3)** hating on Jagex (the developer) became popular.** You think league players h8 on riot? you haven't seen h8 m8 at these r8s (im so sry for that) until you've seen RS hate. People who used to love the game keep up with the game news only to post useless, angry remarks anywhere they can. And the community is the most toxic in the world.
I'm posting this because I'm seeing the same things happening to league. It's a great game and I dont want it to die out like RS did (pretty much). Dont make these same mistakes riot, dont follow the path of Jagex, listen to your players, cater to your new fans** and **old ones, and if you do these things, people wont be **AS **toxic to you (gamers will never stop being toxic as a whole)
