Rework the Rework

Morde fan base is somewhat admirable for the sole reason that they got a champion rework that's made Morde hohfdwpjdsBroken yet want the rework to be reverted. Devoted much?

THIS! I didn't care when people considered Mordekaiser a "trash pick" or a "troll pick". I played him because I enjoyed everything about him - from his theme to his gameplay! While his gameplay patterns may have been slightly boring and binary, his passive and ultimate made him unique.

Mindworm Jim3 votes

I know this is a bit off-topic, but would you mind sharing what your thoughts are on his themes? Speaking as someone who never really played him much he never seemed very coherent. Looks like a giant armored warrior, lore is undead pain wizard, abilities are wide-scale destruction. It's just a huge mish-mash of unrelated things to me.

terkmc4 votes

METAL! And i mean the genre of music. Heavy metal music celebrate strength and will, as well as destruction and aggression. Morde, with his old kit, does just that. He was nigh-immovable, his spells have the visual and sound to feel powerfull (rip Siphon of Destruction) and the way he play was just downright scary for the opponent, this massive metal motherfucker who level the battlefield in swathes with his aoe spell, never seems to die, and when ganked his first reaction is to 1v2 instead of running away, and most of the time it works. His spells were metalic and synergetic, creating an unending onslaught of metal spike mace shard that is like a storm of of pain that whirls around him killing everything that is near

Morde was lordly powerfull and he knows it, he fight army not mere people with his aoe, bouncing metal spikes in a wide area to cause uncontrolled havoc. He doesnt even bother to have cc or mobility, he doesn't even bother chasing his opponent. Either they stay out of his way, or they gap close on to him and DIE.

In contrast, now, his incredibly solid and unique metal vfx is replaced with green fart cloud, he needs a support to hold his hand through out the game, his wave clear sucks with the removal of most of his aoe damage, all of his kit damage is overloaded into his all-or-nothing Q, his W punish him for going solo lane. And now, they are going to change his title...

Decrit1 votes

I loved playing without ccs and gapclosers, but using force, zone control and trading power.

That remained with the rework, but they forced too much for me the duo lane power.

I love the rework mostly because made him what he shuld always have been: a friggin warrior that clashes in the middle of the battlefield, while before was basically an awkward mid range mage since he dealt mostly damage with the conic istant aoe spell, and frankly there were many that did the job better. I still loved him aniway, and i would adore him now if he wasn' t permabanned and if he hasn' t that awkward forced power into botlane.

Also just because 60-80 people upvote a thread it does not mean everybody hates it.

Matezoide1 votes

Personally, all those things combine for me to create his identity.

Powerful. Metal. Pain. Necromancer. Overwhelming Mighty. Pure, unadultered, badass.

It is what makes him unique. He takes aspects that arent really connected and connects them well. Just because he controls souls, doesnt means it is the only thing he can do. Just because he wields a huge mace, doesnt means he cant be a powerful magic user as well.

He is an undead general. The very first undead. He manipulates his own suffering (The armor, implied to be his prison) to bring even more to his enemies. He conquers, he smashes, he ravages and then he takes the souls of his enemies once he is done. All for his own personal gains, rather than the Shadow Isles'.

All this while symbolizing Heavy Metal.

Really, this video sums Mordekaiser very well for me. And for many others, i assume, since it won Riot's song contest.

Relevant to Morde: This rework sucks.

Jari2 votes

Which is fine, you love to play LeBlanc, that's you. Nobody said you can't enjoy her. He was refering to playing a champ for enjoyment instead of the OPness they have.

Szunray8 votes

You think all of this hate is coming from the Mordekaiser fanbase? Most people posting about how they hate the rework never even played morde.

For Carthage2 votes

Never mained him because all things considered, he had an obnoxiously toxic kit beforehand. Only chose him against Nasus because, in my personal opinion, Nasus is the opposite side of toxic - a champ that stagnates the game instead of bullheading opponents to death, and for me, toxic champs get met with toxic champs.

I did enjoy him for what he was, but I knew others hated him, and I hated certain aspects enough (such as the auto-pushing) to never place him as my top pick. His lore and personality tickled me, though. So seeing that shit get torn up and pounded into oblivion made me pretty upset - then watching Riot's complete lack of action made me more upset.

It's the same thing with Eve's nerf - I never mained her, but I'd hate to have it happen to a champ I myself mained, so watching the nerf happen and knowing the damage it'd do, of course I'd be upset with the rest of the people.

Szunray1 votes

Well how did you feel about the other re-works?

I'm just saying. You sympathize with morde mains because a champion they loved got "completely changed" Well there's Sion players out there that cant even recognize the new Sion, and they're probably unhappy that their favorite character had their lore changed and kit COMPLETELY done over.

Or, Take gangplank. New kit, new lore, New voice. If you like Old GP, Sod off, go play with barrels. As much as people complain about morde and point to his pro play performance, we can probably look at pro play and decide that, yeah, GP is probably overpowered too, yet forums arent flooded with "revert gp" threads.

Sion and GP reworks were embraced with open arms. The boards werent flooded with "Oh my gawsh, my champions identity was ruined!" even though their Identities were _actually _completely changed, whereas Morde plays more or less the same with Identical lore, voice and model.

Flitchee1 votes

I'd have to argue that sions was not altered too much, the dude was essentially a lifesteal tank that never died, through lifesteal and ignite ruined his day, or he was some kind of 100-0 2 spell mage. the only thing they actually did was take away the mage aspect, hes actually a tank now

Szunray1 votes

So completely erasing 50% of what a champion could do isn't changing too much?

If you were Challenger Sion, and he was your main with over 500 games on him, are you saying you'd transition effortlessly to the new Sion?

The champ is completely different. If all Sion was was a lifesteal tank that was countered by ignite, then by that description Sion was Trundle.

Lets just say you never picked old Sion for AOE CC and initiates.

terkmc4 votes

The difference is the level of attention given to these rework. GP rework was made by someone who played gp, and thus followed his line of thought and gameplay to close enhance what was his strength. He knows people who play gp loved building aoe thing to Q a bunch of minion, so he gave them barrel to do the job. He know GP loved farming, so he gave them two money source. Old GP was one of the more kite-heavy of melee with E ms and passive slow, so they made his passive to do more noticable damage than his old one while still giving him a very hit and run kite playstyle before a crit land.

Sion is an undead warrior of Noxus, and his old identity was that he almost never died, charge head first into battle and has an exploding shield, but on the other hand can really only use half of his kit at a given time. New Sion is still an undead warrior of Noxus, who still charge head first into enemy line with an exploding shield and incredibly hard to kill, and when he dies, you have old AD Sion back even while building tank.

In contrast Mordekaiser takes what was fun and unique about him and threw it in the trash. Massive aoe damage? Gone. Badass metal overlord who face his opponent 1v1/1v2? Gone. Even the core theme of metal? Gone. All replaced with gimmicks and clunky mechanic, like the W xp mechanic and dragon and the bot lane Morde shenanigan. And there has been zero communication from Riot back to the community, despite overwhelmingly negative feedback they only poke their head in once or twice to say "I heard what you are saying, but our idea is cool and better and its final". And im pretty sure at this point CertainlyT has already patted himself on the back for a job well done and moved on to butchering Caitlyn

For Carthage1 votes

I was interrupted when I got into game while typing my response, but Terk here pretty much covered it for me.

The only rework I still don't understand the original fuss about was Cass - but I also didn't understand the rework itself, so I had no place to comment. She originally always seemed like an E-spamming, hyper-carrying poison mage to begin with, but others wanted the DoT aspects enhanced. She never changed in my eyes while changing to other people - so again, never had a place to comment. Only rework so far I had no context to.

terkmc2 votes

Cassipeia had what was done to Mordekaiser Q happened to her E. They pulled power from all over her kit to super charge her E. Before, was the E important? Sure, but her other spell were still good on its own, and you can play a dot poison mage with liandry with her Q and W. Now, like how Morde E does peanut damage and his W only real saving point is the passive juts so he can oneshot people with Q, Cass Q and W is relegated to "spell to proc E with" and her E super charged into machine gun god level

For Carthage1 votes

Makes sense, though Morde I would say got a slight bit more shafted just by his Q being changed as an ability as well - Cass seems to have just had a power transfer, albeit a poor one.

Szunray1 votes

Cass completely lost her passive too.

Before her passive was that consecutive casts of a spell reduced the mana cost of her spells.

Now her passive is this odd Time based, hyper carry focused thing, and she suffers more than ever from mana issues.

For Carthage1 votes

The mana issues weren't too much until recently when they reduced the % recovered on unit kills... at least then in lane I could just E few minions and get myself set back up. Seemed like overkill to lower that on top of the on-hit heal.

Szunray1 votes

Yeah, but even before that, she only recovered mana from last hitting. You run out almost instantly when trying to all in and kill a champion in lane, helping with Dragon/ Baron, or generally fighting anything that doesn't die in a single cast of E.

Compare her to Azir, another "mage dps" type champion, who doesn't have these mana problems at all.

Or Old Cass, the lane bully from hell.

For Carthage1 votes

I did say "too much". I'm aware that she's had mana issues in terms of fighting. You'd think they'd compensate her old passive by cutting 10 from the cost of her E.

Szunray1 votes

Well thats all relative really.

The fact of the matter is if you enjoyed old Sion, if he was your favorite champion, and you just loved his Arnold references, your champion is gone. Morde kept his references. His Q is still melee (different, but far stronger), his E and R and passive are almost Identical. On the other hand, AP sion is literally no more. Mordes W changed about as much as Gangplanks E, and yet one is okay but not the other, even though champs both were basically pick or ban status in pro play.

And the other stuff is debateable too.

You say for instance that what was unique about morde was his "Massive AOE damage" and that his central theme was metal, and that he can no longer 1v1.

Well I'd say AOE damage isn't unique to morde at all in any way(and he still has plenty with his W and E which keeps him alive in team fights). I'd say that Mordes central theme was Juggernaut Overlord ala Sauron, not "metal" . And I'd definitely have to disagree with the Idea that Morde cant 1v1. New Morde can still turn a 1v2 into a 2v1 in a heartbeat.

I'd say Mordes unique Identity was being this slow guy with no CC, who walked up to you, killed you, and used you to kill your own team. I'd say lore wise his Identity was this malignant entity that lived off of pain and suffering and enslaved the dead. I think they did a great job keeping THOSE things.

But instead of actually discussing this stuff, the boards just heap a hundred upvotes into OPs like this. 2 sentences. "The Rework is Bad" "Riot is Stupid."

terkmc2 votes

Morde W is the inverse of GP E change. GP E change from a stat-stick to an interactive ability. Mordekaiser W changed into a stat stick, an unfair one at that (xp) and remove his solo laning power.

His Q being far stronger is debatable for myself too. From a duo lane stand point, yes, but from a solo lane stand point, really no. His old Q bounced around in an aoe, striking the enemy and charging his shield really fast, while new Q is almost impossible to hit in a solo lane situation.

Aoe Damage of Morde is unique in comparision with other character because of how it interacted with his shield and the position he stands in. Sure, Viktor does aoe damage with his E and ult, but its ranged, cost a lot of mana, and high CD. Morde's brand of aoe damage was constant, Q W E, and centerd around himself, so he create a sort of death zone around himself, anything that gets in there is bombarded with constant aoe damage while Morde feeds off that suffering to charge his shield, and because of all that aoe, his shield charge incredibly fast. He was consistent, unrelenting and omnious force of death thats just keeps coming, his damage never stopped and your retaliation cant even touch him because how fast his shield charged while he march down the lane to devastate everything in his path.

His theme was being a Metal Overlord. Akin to Sauron, absolutely, but you don't see Sauron need an ally to use his full power. You see Sauron walks into battle, solitary, and start swinging his mace sending CHUNKS of the enemy army flying and dying left and right, not hitting an enemy three times to instant kill him. Sauron, Mordekaiser fought armies by himself, which is emphasized by the mass death he caused with the aoe.

Which is another problem i have with new Morde is how his spells are handled. Before, all of Morde spell have equal importance and power, all of them handle different way to spread death, now everything is treated as a pedal for his Q. His W has been hamstringed with the allies requirement, his E lost its power as a "destroy this area" spell and is a now a shield generator, and all of his damage is loaded onto his Q, which is only a burst of damage that destroy one enemy in contrast with Morde unrelenting barrage of metal shards.

Which moving to vfx, sound and thematic. Morde was unique in his magic, other magic were light, laser, lightning or ghost magic. Morde magic was physical, solid and painful and it feels like it, he isn't just blasting an enemy with boring magic, he's summoning weapon out of the ground to smash them. New E looks and feels like a breeze of green wind that blows over the enemy, while old E sound (which was an incredibly sastifying sound) and visual was simply brutal, and solid and you can feel it as you obliterate an entire area infront of you with weapons summoned from the ground. His new W is, again, cloud of green thing with some tiny metal shard, while his old W made him a literal meat grinder, huge cloud of metal shard swirling around him cutting whoever was near him to pieces. His old Q animation, i admit, was bad, but the idea was cool, and if combined with the animation of his crit (overhead smash) into sending metal crashing into enemies as high speed would be really metal, but still better than the 1!2!!3!!! of new Q

Which, at this point, im not even getting into the balancing aspect of new Morde, unbalanced 1 shot capability but very unreliable, unfair advantage for simply playing the game and snowball like a son of a bitch. Old Morde, while i admit had an outdated kit and needed to be reworked, would not even be close to how broken new Morde is. I'm not opposed to Morde change, and I will welcome a Sion level-rework if it was the same level of quality and depth was given into the process, but never CertainlyT Morde, who feels like an abomination of random mechanic that he think is cool patched together with a staple gun and left barely breathing, his identity even more muddled than ever, his theme destroyed for both the old and new fan (really, Lord of Death?). I welcome change that is good and balanced, and even if current Morde was buffed to free-win level and I can play everytime in ranked I'd still protest it. It's not about whats strong, its about what is right.

Flitchee1 votes

I also want to point out, Mordekaiser is German means lord of death, so hes now lord of death lord of death because reasons.

terkmc1 votes

Even so there are more interesting way to spin the name even if they are as lazy as to directly translate it. Murder Emperor, The Emperor of Murder, Lord of Ruination, Lord of the Grave, The Tomb King. Or even some nudges, The Deathless King.

Szunray1 votes

Well I personally can see why they redid morde.

For one there are ways to "Play" all of his abilities now. Old morde's Q and E were basically interchangeable. All you needed to do with his old W was make sure whoever you used it on was touching an enemy. His old Q would do bonus damage if you isolated a target (and if I recall that also included isolated from minions), but he is no Kha'Zix, and so there was no reliable way to do that.

Walk into lane. Shield the minion at the front, Q and E all things in front of you, enemies, minions, turrets, didnt matter.

New Morde opened up a lot of decision making potential. His E is now the teamfight shield generator. His W allows him to enter a fight quicker, or leave it, or save his friend, or bring an ally, like a ganking jungler into the fight quicker. He can reactivate for a burst of healing, or to charge a second proc on his Trinity/Iceborne/Runeglaive.

Sure, his E was weakened to make his Q stronger, but now he can actually get the full damage from his Q every time without relying on him and his enemy dueling in a desert somewhere. You can play it to it's full potential. Instead of just walking up to someone, hitting Q and hoping for the best, maybe you'll Q a minion once, twice, and then W the jungler coming in for a gank, speed up to your lane oponnent, and crush them with your mace while your W grinds away at them. At the very least, it's not so interchangeable with his E anymore.

Speaking of, the fact that his Q does most of the damage, and that it scales well with both AD and AP, morde has more interesting build paths than ever. He can build AD, AP, tank, and anything in between.

As far as consistent AOE melee damage being mordes thing, I am just going to have to disagree. With Riven, and Diana, and Sion, Gnar, and ravenous Hydra, he is not unique in that regard, and he was really never picked to fill that niche (or ever, really). The list becomes massive if you include "short range mages".

As far as to his balance issues, yeah, nobody wants to really go into them. People say his Dragon is overpowered, and people also say they_ dislike having the dragon_ because it puts their ult on cooldown. He probably NEEDS the dragon to actually push down towers, what with being both AP and melee and completely replacing your AD carry (Jinx/Tristana). People say he does too much damage while being hard to kill, which is what he's always done. I honestly think the biggest issue is that he's too far out of the meta for people to adapt to. If you usually play Zed mid, you expect the enemy ADC to flee in terror from you. But then you ult Morde, and when you materialize you realize that your just in melee with Mordekaiser now.

As far as people saying they should have just made a different champion, I think they were smart to recycle morde for the job of being Riots first "bot lane melee carry". They have champs coming down the pipe, Morde was basically a joke of a character (huehuehue BRBRBR numero uno), and all things considered, they changed him the least amount necessary to make this completely unprecedented archetype.

At the very least, it's not so interchangeable with his E anymore.

Actually compared to Kha'Zix Morde Q is more reliable in lane, for the sheer fact that his E can reach a point to insta clear nearby minion for an isolation, and even if it wasn't isolated it still does good damage in aoe. Q full power is also in the wrongs aspect. Instead of Morde making the decision to clear minion or change space of dueling to obtain isolation Q, now to hit third Q, Morde needs an ally, in your scenario, NEEDS an ally to use his full power with the W speed up and grind, which is alot more situational than his old Q was. What is better, to have access to your full power and make the decision to optimize it yourself (whether to hit them in melee range isolation for massive damage, or to hit one in a crowd for range and shield generation), or to rely entirely on an ally or an enemy being dumb?

he can actually get the full damage from his Q every time without relying on him and his enemy dueling in a desert somewhere

No, you don't get people standing still in melee range with you for a full 3 hit. EVERYTIME? At least old Q non-isolation was still powerful, trading single target damage for aoe damage and shielding, while new Q is simply third hit deletion or nothing, which only happens with an ally nearby

His W allows him to enter a fight quicker, or leave it, or save his friend, or bring an ally, like a ganking jungler into the fight quicker

And might I remind you his old W ALREADY has the movement toward each other mechanic? And the Amor and MR buff to save an ally, which is better than W healing since new Morde doesn't even buy that much AP.

It wasn't just consistent aoe melee damage, it was short-mid range consistent aoe damage in combination with his tankiness that is the result of said aoe. Even Riven couldn't match Morde pure damage out put and tankiness, she has her mobility and utlity over him but pure damage and defense Morde trumps, Sion is a tank, doesn't do nearly as comparable damage to Morde, and only Dianna come close, but she is mostly played as an assassin and her tankiness depends on only one of her spell, W and her mana, while Morde shield off of everything in combination with his ult healing. He was picked because said AOE allowed him to be a lane dominatior, and scaled really well in the same way Karthus does with both of their aoe damage, only Morde way of survival isn't life after death, it was not dying in the first place. Bring me up another tanky short ranged consistent high aoe magic damage champion.

Speaking of, the fact that his Q does most of the damage, and that it scales well with both AD and AP, morde has more interesting build paths than ever. He can build AD, AP, tank, and anything in between.

His build path is a sham. Time and time again League has proven that hybrid scaling is a joke. Kayle, Akali and Jax, all hybrid, all still only build one stat because they scale well with that, Kayle Akali AP, Jax AD. His build path isn't an advantage its a disadvantage. He goes half way for everything and doesn't concentrate on anything well. Look at his winrate, it drops off dramatically because he scale with everything but doesnt scale well with anything

He probably NEEDS the dragon to actually push down towers, what with being both AP and melee and completely replacing your AD carry (Jinx/Tristana). People say he does too much damage while being hard to kill, which is what he's always done.

And all two of these problem were created by the rework. Him replacing your adc and being completely melee focused? Rework made it that way. Push his damage too much while being hard to kill? Rework made it that way

So because Morde is a joke for you that he should be sacrificed for Riot's little experiment? So a champion can't have things that's funny and memorable about them, made by the community no less, in fear that they be considered a joke? And I can tell you Morde might considered an unviable pick in competitive LCS (along with 75% of the champion pool because lets face it, LCS only play optimized pick), but he is not a joke in your everyday queue. He wasn't a punching bag that people laughed about like Yorrick, he was the Master of Metal that people laughed WITH as he 1v3 unsuspecting opponent or 6v4 the team. It was not a mean spirit joke about how he is terrible, it was a good-natured joke for the insane stuff that Morde can pull off by being awesome. People Hue when he's picked because you don't pick Mordekasier unless you are really good with him, so buckle up for some hue-ing.

And why is it smart? Why instead of creating another character tailored to the specific meta-breaking role they intended, theme kit and all (Kindred), they have to take an already established, VERY iconic champion, try to squeeze the experimental kit in, limiting both themselves in the confine of an existing champion AND angering the fan base of the existing champion AND create identity issue because they try so hard to force unfitting kit it into Morde's identity that everything has gone to hell, both kit, balance, lore and theme. This isn't just Morde player crying out for help, this is the entire board up in arm if you looked around. He is not fun to play as or against or even with or is good for the game, and the only people that like using him are people who only care about winning.

Early game I rely on my Ally to land my third Q consistently. Late Game I rely on my Trinity, Ryalais, Swiftness boots and/or Deadmans plat to land my third Q. At which point , yeah, it's a pretty sure thing.

Even Riven couldn't match Morde pure damage out put and tankiness...Morde way of survival isn't life after death, it was not dying in the first place...Bring me up another tanky short ranged consistent high aoe magic damage champion.

Well, lets think. Who was being played AP top instead of Morde all this time. I think a suitable stand in for those requirements would be Rumble, Ryze, or Vladimir. You may disagree but, those are who people were playing instead of Mordekaiser at the time, and they fit that niche when it was needed.

His build path is a sham. Time and time again League has proven that hybrid scaling is a joke. So are we saying that mordekaiser is... underpowered?

And all two of these problem were created by the rework. Him replacing your adc and being completely melee focused? Rework made it that way. Push his damage too much while being hard to kill? Rework made it that way

Earlier you say your favorite thing about pre rework morde was his high damage and being unkillable.

So because Morde is a joke for you that he should be sacrificed for Riot's little experiment? People Hue when he's picked because you don't pick Mordekasier unless you are really good with him, so buckle up for some hue-ing.

Maybe your interpretation. I took it as Morde was an immobile melee character with no CC who had no place in league of infinite dashes. He had the most simplistic, autopilot playstyle ever, walk forward, attempt to beat ass, either succeed or fail, and most people would fail and stop playing him (He's still pretty much that same champ by the way). But I'm not saying he should have been sacrificed because of some meme.

I'm saying that true, melee carries have been absent from league since forever, and many other Mobas have them, and many players have wanted them. So they can either make a new champion from scratch, which would take years, or alter two abilities on a neglected champ, that was already up for a rework.

Morde is still a melee, high damage, highly resilient monster. He still is all about that pain and drain, enslaving the weak, and 6 v 4 shenanigans. People are upset about changes to a champion they never actually played, and hardly ever played with, and that's what I don't get.

If people were discussing whether he's OP, UP, fun to play with, fun to play against, y'know, that's what people should be talking about. Not just asking riot to revert Morde to the lovable relic he was so that we can all continue to ignore his existence again like we used to.

Hit the nail on the head here. Morde used to clear waves faster then Sivir and everything in his kit felt so smooth when used together. Now his E (his previous bread and butter skill) hits like a wet noodle. His Q feels clunky and cheese (but oh so satisfying if you land the 3rd), and his W is the biggest problem, it doesn't damage minions like it used to and it's full power can't be accessed unless you have a freakin babysitter. Your flipping Mordekaiser FFS! You also lose access to your ultimate if you have a dragon pet, sometimes I'd rather the burst.

Pushing a champion from a Solo laner to a gimmicky duo laner is such a spit in the face. Create a brand new champ for that BS don't do it to one of your oldest. Also not only did Riot fail address Morde's prime balancing issue they made it worse.

Morde is honestly near the Poppy tier in terms of whether he should ever be viable because he has the uncanny ability to get owned in lane RoFL stomped then turn around and ghost the person who wrecked him turn the fight into a 4v6 and ace the team. While the range on hils ultimate is lower he can still do the same crap, and ghost the dragon exacerbating his core balancing issue.

Revert GP plz, mained him since 2 season. Never played him after rework.

believe it or not, people want a champion that's fun to play, not broken.

You know, now that you mention it, i just realised you are completely right.

Hell, a lot of my friends have told me to go back to LoL because Mord is incredibly powerful atm, but i just sigh and explain to them it isnt about the power.

Ever since the rework was released, we hated it. Worlds served as the wake up call for many, i would say, since it went from "Maybe we can get used to it..." to "Holy shit!", then came the new title....

It really is amazing. Even when he was released and considered overpowered, the complaints never really stopped. I can really respect this feeling, and it pleases me greatly that the Mordekaiser mains havent lost sight of it, as well as the community's general support.

Morde fan base is somewhat admirable for the sole reason that they got a champion rework that's made Morde hohfdwpjdsBroken yet want the rework to be reverted. Devoted much?

He's not Morde anymore is probably why

Honestly I kind of feel this way about Gragas, but this was a reverse Graggifying

seriously, you didn't fuck with 5 item morde

"yeah we hate it too but we aren't going to do anything about it because fuk u"

literally where was that said

They haven't come out to say it, but take note how little they talk on the forums about it. I think recently they only went to one, which was about the new title, saying that "master of metal" doesn't fit Morde anymore because he isn't based on metal anymore.

I'm actually debating on opening a ticket so I know a rioter can see this shit.

Quick edit: Tickers can send things to the higher ups if requested and deemed as necessary.

They obviously don't care about the tiny vocal fraction that represents 0.0000001% player base.

They don't like reverts, especially if it means bringing back the useless hunk of metal that was pre-rework Morde.

It's not like you don't know the actual reason either: Marksmen are getting reworked, we'll see how Mord performs then. Besides, on paper isn't it cool that a melee champ is dominating bot lane?

I'm sorry but, I downvoted when I read this first line. Morde was not junk. He was lane dominant and pretty fair in teamfights. Tell Malicious Metal that and see what he says.

Morde was a hella strong laner due to his anti-burst/poke passive and exquisite waveclear. His poke pattern was unhealthy though but made him really damn strong in lane coupled with his passive it made him an immovable metal wall.

His teamfighting was especially strong if he managed to constantly build up shield with his heavy AoE and clone.

He was strong but binary/unfun to deal with and deserved a full on relaunch but he wasn't weak by any means.

If you're gonna use old Morde mains as a guideline, I can quote the one who more or less said "Yep, Morde is bad, he has mediocre range and no CC but I'm not trying to get to LCS, so I don't care." (He made the first thread that talked about the rework when it was first proposed by CT.)

When I played vs the old Mordekaiser, the game was decided by the following question: Did my jungler feed him? That's it. It didn't matter if he crushed me in lane, I could just give up CS knowing how useless he'd become. His damage in fights was mediocre and way too DoT focused. You could just ignore him (unless my beloved soloQ comrades had decided to come and feed him). All the carries on his team died before he could make any impact.

and riots like "yeah we hate it too but we aren't going to do anything about it because fuk u who was the crybaby who wanted the rework so bad"

Wanting a rework that actually works is different from one that is complete shit.

I think a similar thing happened for the Karma rework.

Possibly also the Olaf rework.
