Solo Queue Etiquette
Here are a list of things your teammates would greatly appreciate you did and considered before queuing up for tomorrow's ranked games!
1. Check your ping. Play a normal, or at least a custom, before you start your daily ranked grind. That way, you're less likely to go into a game and experience connection problems because you'll be well aware of any problems beforehand.
2. Play a normal before diving into ranked anyway. The first game you play when you're fatigued and tired from all of your daily work/when you just got out of bed is going to be crusty. It's a good idea to play a warm-up match before jumping into the depths of hell ranked games, even if it's just a small bots game, just to get your muscles back into the swing of things. Warming up is an essential step in all sports, games, musical performances, etc. for the best possible performance.
3. Be respectful of solo queue's purpose. Solo queue is designed to be more competitive, an area where players play with the intent of testing their ability against other players in an attempt to climb in rank. Be respectful of the fact players are here to play seriously, whether it be in Bronze 3 or Diamond 2. Don't go in and experiment, or goof around. Do your best to win, because while you may not take it seriously, others do, and in solo queue, they have full right to be as competitive as they please, because that is its venue.
4. Be prepared to play any role. While you might have your last 47 games as FotM Smite Shyvana top lane, make sure you keep practiced at least a few times in every roll in case you don't get your lane. Remember, you're one person out of 5, and you aren't the only person who mains X champion in Y role. Maining a role is good, but be flexible.
5. Do your absolute best. Going on tilt happens. Disconnects happen. Not being too terribly familiar with a certain role happens. Being against a generally better player happens. But don't give up. As useless as you may feel as a 1/6/3 Cho'gath against a fed Pantheon who's 60 CS ahead, you're still needed, and one good knockup CAN and sometimes WILL change the entire tide of the whole game. Never get discouraged.
