Summoners Rift wasn't an ideal environment for Hexakill because of the strict meta. But Dominion was meant to be the fun fast-paced game mode. But why stop at 6v6, it could be 7v7 or 8v8. If Riot really emphasized its chaotic fun nature, people might actually play it.
I actually do like this idea.
I think Dominion is getting a VU soon with the rework of the Shurima's desert theme, similar to the Freljord rework and the Howling abyss.
And while Howling Abyss was introduced ARAM was made an official game mode, so they could rework Dominion just as well. Make it more chaotic, more fun :D
I think that 6v6 just generally isn't enough of a change from 5v5 to make an interesting and genuinely different play experience regardless of the map. Twisted Treeline however I would very much like to see get Hexakill, it's effectively doubling the players so fights should be crazy and the play experience should be very different.
I do feel that Riot really needs to do featured game modes for Twisted Treeline and Dominion, that would help give the modes some vision.
You brig up a very good point sir, and I would love to see Hex in dominion.
Not more than that though, a fun fact (sorry for repitition if you already knew) but LoL actually started as a 6v6 game in it's toddler stage. But they moved to five because teamfights proved so bursty there were people that literally could do nothing to affect the outcome even if they were playing well. So moving too far means too much power capacity for certain comps that could result in very very not-fun gameplay.
Honestly I think Dominion should be the most flexible in terms of team sizes because, why not?? Dominion is in a weak spot this could spice it up.
Not sure if Hexakill is the one, but I definitely wouldn't mind seeing some kind of featured game mode for Dominion. :)
