It's taking much longer than usual. At first I was just thinking maybe it's because the new season just started but I'm slowly getting somewhat worried.

Riot has said that they won't release the new patch until after the holiday season. I just hope that I get to play the Kalista buffs before I leave for boot camp in a week.
The Holiday season is still winding down, so they are slowly resuming their regular operations. The next patch will most likely hit next Wednesday (the 11th) as there are still a few more things to finish up in the current PBE cycle which I'm expecting will hit there this week.
Christmas? new year? unlike some jobs programming like many jobs is salary pay base so they get that time frame off
