With new Runes on the Horizon, what are we supposed to do with IP?

I know that this does not apply to the majority of the community, but it still applies to some.

I have been playing this game since S1. I have had dodge runes, and then had them refunded when dodge as a mechanic was removed from the game. After over 6 years of playing with only small breaks due to work, I own all the champs, all T3 runes and 20 rune pages. I mean ALL T3 runes. There just comes a time when you're bored of having 100K+ IP and you blow it on runes that you never even use, like scaling AD and scaling HP5regen.

For almost 2 seasons now I have had nothing to spend IP on except for new champs. The one nice break was when Riot allowed you to buy a single chroma for IP. But that was only for certain ones and only for a limited time. I have nothing to spend IP on.

With the new runes announced for the end of this year, at which time they will be free and the old runes will "have something done to them" (likely a refund). If a refund is the case, I, and players like me, will have hundreds of thousands, perhaps even millions of IP, and nothing to spend it on.

Riot, will there ever be something done to create a way for players who have unlocked all available content to spend their IP, or will it just continue to be useless to me?
