What is the point in using chat at all? It's becoming more and more beneficial to just mute all every game because the benefit of communication doesn't outweigh the risk of punishment. It's just too much of a liability to use anymore, so i just wont be using the feature from here on out.

Exactly, since there are people going around trolling just trying to provoke you so you get banned and they go scott free, you might as well just minimize the chat screen and pretend it doesn't exist.

I looked up this player, they have literally been doing the same exact thing for the past month, and I showed them that. Support replied to me saying, "If your suspension is because of connection issues, please fix that before playing ranked." I'm like what the fuck? First, I'm not suspended. Second, I don't afk. Third, you didn't even begin to answer the question idiot support guy. It is sad that we play a game where trolling isn't punishable, but you get a 30 game chat ban for asking them to stop trolling.

You can make the chat box so small it cant be read, and that will save. It is almost like it isnt there, but you can still see that things are being typed.

Edit: Good examples of use of chat: "Good work Ashe!" "Coming to gank top" "Dragon is coming up in 30 seconds, can someone ward it?" Bad examples of use of chat: "Fuck you Ashe!" "0 ganks top lane, worst jungler NA." "Only supports ward, you idiot."
