Or,some people will play both games from time to time when they feel like it? You're not restricted to playing only 1 game at a time I don't think an FPS would steal playerbase from a top-down MOBA unless other players simply got sick of the game and use Overwatch as an excuse or something to stop playing

Will Overwatch lose a bunch of players when No Mans Sky comes out? Because No Mans Sky has a ton of hype, naturally it will completely destroy the player base of an unrelated game from another genre...

If you played any Overwatch during the free week you know that the two games are not rivals, so it doesn't make sense to think Overwatch will impact League's playerbase any more than any other new FPS does.

Not really.

Played Overwatch... not really that amazing, it's okay but it's a completely different genre of game.

They're going to lose me but I'm not playing Overwatch. It's a good game I just don't see why I have to pay Blizzard for a cloned game that's already been out. After being fan of Blizzard since the 90s, I've come to the conclusion Blizzard only does one thing right which is marketing. I played every game and they are all pretty solid titles (especially Starcraft and Diablo). WoW was meh. It had its ups and downs and as someone who was obsessed with WoW, I have to say I've played many MMO's over the years that were superior despite having less fluid mechanics. All Blizzard has done I've noticed were take other people's ideas, refined them, market, make money. Kind of like Apple. Not that I hate them or saying they are bad. I just lost all appeal or attraction to their games/products.

If you really think about it, Overwatch gameplay already existed for close to a decade on Counter Strike modded servers. I've played the hell out of Overwatch already on the beta.

I prob will go to a more graphics/processor intensive game. I got a beast rig and I have yet to play a real game to test its potential yet.

Na. League is free, where as Overwatch is an overpriced TF2 clone.

Sure it's fun, but it's just not worth the price they are pushing for it.

Not as long as i´m fighting like hell. ;)

Maybe for a short period of time as people use their time for something else. Then I imagine they will come back because LoL is their drug of choice. Not speaking from experience or anything.

Overwatch is really targeting TF2, CS:GO, and COD more than League. Those are the games that should be worried.

Most people are probably going to take a break from league, play overwatch, then just end up playing both.

Cremepie5/17/2016, 5:20:39 PM1 votes

They are going to lose players because the state of season 6 has been awful for too long. Not because overwatch is coming out. Granted that's where alot of my newly found time may end up.

I don't see how it compares to LoL. It's not a moba fix. If LoL lost anyone looking for a more fast paced moba, it would of been to Battleborne.

SW Battlefront is the game i'm giving up on for Overwatch, not LoL.

Narvuntien5/17/2016, 3:12:18 PM1 votes

Perhaps for a few weeks. more likely the kind of people that like FPS that will switch to it not people that like league. Perhaps there are people that like both games but they will come back because its a different experience. I'll still be here though.

  1. I always hated TF2, I played lots of CoD4 (and MW2) so I have played FPS in the past (although never CS), I just hated being locked into a role so much and overwatch appears worse.
  2. I hate blizzard and I don't play blizzard games.

Losin' me, that's for sure. I've started on Smite and Overwatch and I'll only ever look back for a game or two to play some Teeto.
