Duoing: the legal form of ELO boosting.

I'v always kind of had a problem with the Idea of duoing. Rarely is it two silvers playing together to try to get to a higher tier, but usually a silver and a Platinum or diamond player on their smurf.

I could honestly go and get my diamond 5 buddy to hop on his smurf and carry my shit ass all the way to high gold and honestly all it would take me is to not feed and sit in lane and watch him yasuo, or talon the whole enemy team to death.

It doesn't show that you have any skill.

Smurfs are the problem, not friends playing together. Unfortunately I don't see how they can actually stop smurfs from ruining peoples games.

What exactly is your basis for this statement? Almost every game you're in through Bronze-Gold you'll have a duo on both sides. Just use any of the many loading screen info sites, you'll usually see it. Obviously you have the occasional "I'm a smurf" dude but in my 113 game climb from Promos (Silver V) to Gold V, I saw that maaaaybe 3 or 4 times? Checking LoLNexus and how everybody played every game there really weren't any standout smurfs duoing.

I dont really mind if someone smurfs in normals. Its when they smurf in ranked to carry their buddies that i hate. I'm not pro at this game I can play against golds just fine but when I'm against a diamond ADC main I can't really do anything.

I'm mostly just skeptical about the quoted thesis statement. I agree that going up against a Diamond ADC main when you get forced to ADC FREAKING SUCKS but the statement that it's usually this and not two buddies playing together is what I'm skeptical about.

The thing is even when its two buddies they usually are not the same ELO, out of all my best friends I'm the lowest ELO, I have 2 gold friends and 2 diamond friends, If I were to to duo with them my team would have an unfair advantage. Edit: these are my best friends in real life BTW.
