Why don't we make black clever melee only?

Adcs are just able to get way to much armour pen these days In my opinion. they get the 45% from item 3036 and then 30% from item 3071. To get BC up to 6 stacks it takes most adcs less than 3 seconds to do that. After BC if max stacked the adc is sitting at 75% armour pen.

I played amumu last game and had 350 armour, the MF on the other team had 75% armour pen (when BC was stacked). I had like 87.5 armour and then -10 because of her Dusk blade so I had something around 75 armour. (math may be wrong, please correct me if it is)

Anyway you get my point I think ADCS have access to way to much armour pen.

So nerf it for every other champion gets nerfed because a few bad eggs abuse it? Personally, I don't think there is a problem with ADC's buying it.

Because it's like saying in the end why don't they just classify every item to a certain type of champion?

item 3031 - only on Ranged AD item 3071 - only on Melee AD item 3504 - only on Ranged AP Supports

and so on.

In this meta this is fine since without armor pen adcs arent as relevant since tanks just dont die and kill them fairly quickly. Can i even say that? Unfairly quickly because its the league of tanks.

The items don't stack that way, and most adcs are slow to stack it and it's generally sub-optimal in their builds.

In reality, % armor pen is perfectly fine, it's flat armor pen that is too much right now.

As an ADC main, I can say that an amumu with 350 armor will not die against full build full arm pen mf ult unless you were around 30-40% health already. I can say that with 100% certainty.

Okay, you are overestimating the effectiveness of this combination of items.

To start, you do not get 45% armor pen from Mortal Reminder, you get 45% BONUS armor pen. This armor pen only affects armor gained through runes, masteries, items, abilities, etc. It does not effect a champion's base armor, and for Amumu at level 18, that's 88 armor that is unaffected by this armor pen.

Also, Black Cleaver does not give armor pen at all, it gives armor shred. There's a very big difference between the two. Armor shred is applied first reducing the target's armor, and then the armor pen you have affects the remaining amount.

For example, lets say you are Amumu at level 18 with 350 armor. With the 30% armor shred from Black Cleaver, you will lose 105 armor, being left with 245, with 88 of it being base armor and 157 of it being bonus armor. Then the 45% bonus armor pen from Mortal Reminder is applied to the 157 bonus armor, so they ignore 70.65 of that armor, but we'll round it up to 71, leaving you with 86 bonus armor plus the 88 base armor for a total of 174 armor, minus however much flat armor pen the enemy has. So even with both Mortal Reminder and Black Cleaver, you still have around half of your total armor.

Cause no body wants league of tanks again. And by building Armor shred they aren't building the hyper scaling crit build.
