before you assume this is a troll thread. i had a yi who was intentionally stealing cs from me "adc" who then proceeded to get the rest of the team to gang up on me the entire game while ragebaiting namecalling, and nosurrender trolling to trap me in the game meanwhile. the enemy team was stalling the match as much as they could without throwing themselves i DID NOT. insult anyone directly use any racial homophobic or ethnic slurs troll/afk or do anything to intentionally try to lose

what i did do asked them to stop name calling asked the yi to stop trolling asked in allchat to report them

You should get a Reform Card in your email, if you haven't already. When posting a "I was unfairly banned" thread, it's standard procedure to post the chat log from it. It will only be logs from your recent game, so keep in mind that it takes many games worth of reports to get banned, and the whole picture will not be there.

The concerns I see:

You call for reports 4 times - that's neither acceptable nor necessary.
You repeatedly call the Yi a troll - whether it's true or not, it's still an insult.
You take your team's issues to all-chat - this is never helpful, and often serves only to accidentally antagonize a whole different group of people.

All in all, I find it surprising that it's a ban, but a sanction was not unwarranted here.

EDIT: It's important to remember that retaliation is not considered acceptable, and that the actions of others are never considered an acceptable excuse for your own actions. It's evident that you weren't the instigator here, but you nevertheless exacerbated the issue.

So, at the end of the match, did you feel you made a difference by standing up for yourself?

You let the game get to you and that is your problem. Stealing cs is not the end of the world problem and you're making it a bigger issue than it is.

In situations like these, it's bets to just let it happen because honestly, there is absolutely nothing you can do to stop it from happening when they're determined to troll you. Just play the game, try to get as much cs as you can, if he follows you just do the thing you would normally do.

Eventually it will come a point where he has to stop and participate in a team fight or global objective. If he's on you 24/7, there really is nothing you can do about it but to wait for a win/loss and move on.

i still feel like "letting the bully continue to bully you" is the wrong response as well riot needs to crack down a lot harder on "report baiting" types of trolling. i feel the instigator should get the more severe punishment. even if both people are being punished. especially if thier aim was to get the other person in trouble just to troll

Unfortunately, that's not how it works in League nor the real world. If I instigated you to a fight, and you threw the first punch or the first slur while I did nothing back, you will be the one in trouble.

Remember, instigation is only in your eyes and is hardly noticeable in a third parties perspective. Even if a third party notice it, it's not a punishable offense.

Just think of League as a work place environment and there is a manager outside of it who will take actions on people's behavior. You wouldn't lash out on your co-worker if he/she is bugging you in a subtle way. If you're doing your job in one section of the workplace, and he/she comes into your vicinity and work on your stuff and you lash out on him/her, who do you think the manager will side with? The right thing to do is just avoid her and go to your manager and hope your manager will do something about it.

even if they dont. this type of mentality only teaches trolls 'if you troll, make sure to anger the guy you're trolling enough to where he gets banned too and do it in lobby before he gets a chance to mute you"

im not saying i dont deserve to be punished. im saying dont reward people for report baiting. because the reason why they do it is because of the "two wrongs" mentality. they game the system by trapping you in situations you either cant ignore "eg. they cant get you so i'l go after your potentually less tolerant duo partner so you try to Rammus taunt them off your duo". or they do it in just subtle enough of a way where it psychologically catches you off guard and takes you awhile to actually realize they are trolling and not just being a jerk

a solution i have. is give people the option to either buy with ip/rp or earn "afk tokens" which would work similarly to aram rerolls. and you would use a chat command /afktoken to spend them which would be extremely limited in not only how many you could have at a time. but how often you could use them. which would be intended specifically for the "its better to just walk away" type of games where people could spend a token maybe 1 out of every 5 games. and be able to afk without penalty "LP loss would still apply" "abuse of this system would result in loss of ability to use the tokens permanently as well as flag you on leaverbuster" because part of the problem. is the no afk policy. they know if you just leave they can report you for that instead. so give people the option to at least walk away

spending a token would be done in game and would a. make it so the "report for afk" would be greyed out and people couldnt even report you for it. "to prevent other teammates from getting flagged for false reports" b. not affect duo/premades. just you c still take you to postgame lobby D. if your team wins without you. you still lose LP. and any IP earned is immediatly reduced to zero you would still be unable to queue for a match until the current game ends

this would solve 2 problems

it would give people a way out if a a single person is being bullied
it would also solve the issue of "nosurrender trolling"

What reward do they get? More to the point - assuming they get a reward - who gave it to them?

No, really, it's a serious question.

Because assuming you reported them, they've got a case building themselves - the kinds of behavior indicated by your logs are absolutely punishable. So if they get a reward - your ban - who gave it to them?
