LoL Logic: Economy vs. Gluttony vs. Self-Preservation for the sake of Self-preservation

The way I see it, there's 3 types of players in LoL. Those who play responsibly, those who just want kills, and those who just want their stats to look good.

An economic player will try to ride the line between impact and reliability. They'll fight to their limits, but ultimately have no intention of dying unless necessary. This player will usually attempt to disengage, peeling for their Carries (or self-peeling if they themselves are a carry) but always looking for an opening to counterengage or snipe out a single target in the chaos.

A gluttonous player is that player with as many kills ad they have deaths and very little team assists. This player is usually single-minded in their attempt to tunnel in on a specific champion whether it's a good idea or not. In most circumstances, this player is actually good to have. They are the sacrificial lamb that will throw the enemy team into chaos while your team gets a chance to do something devastating. ANd hopefully, this player can usually pick off or chunk out a primary target before they themselves go down.

Then there's the guy who just wants to have a good score. They'll afk farm. They won't trust their team. They'll wait until they've almost been aced before finally attempting to play the janitor and clean up. Sometimes they can. A lot of the time they can't. A lot of the time they just rely on the enemy team being dumb enough to 1v1 them. Depending on the comp, you may or may not want this player. But they'll always be there in Solo Q whether you like them or not because as long as LCS exists, so to FotM champions, and so do FotM hoppers.

An interesting thing I see about this is that it also describe's a few champion's essential playstyles too, not just player behavior.

For example, Braum Janna Lux are all focused on keeping themselves and others safe while being opportunistic. Notably, they're all supports, and care more about teamwork and winning fast than just kills (except for Lux, she's a bit of the last type).

For the second type, Karthus Sion Mordekaiser are all considered suicide initiators to some extent, and all love diving into fights without thought for consequences. A lot of champs like these are fighters, but there are exceptions.

Finally, we have the "wait for an uneven fight and cleanup" style that Jax Tryndamere Nasus exemplify. All of them scale extremely well in late game, but have trouble in simple head-on fights against anyone with good utilities. This forces them to wait for those spells to be blasted before they go in.

If you're thinking about player psychology, then I'd say that's a different topic, but you could expand this list by a lot to get a sense of how people play the game and what champions fit them.
