Can any Rioter explain why Mastery 6&7 are hardly related to actual champion mastery?

The champion mastery system should be about skill and performance, not about luck and purchasing chests/keys/etc.

Mastery levels 6 & 7 seem to be just another incentive to spend money through the Hextech Crafting system in order to get your champion shard. The chances of someone getting the exact thing they want WITHOUT purchasing things is extremely low due to the absurdly low drop rate of key fragments.

Riot, I'm not upset that you're trying to make more money from your game. But don't tie it into champion mastery. Please.

That's just the method to unlock the next teirs (and only part of it at that). Additionally, they said they are adding methods (with IP) so that you don't even have to spend money to get the components you need to unlock the next level

While that's nice they are releasing that, they have not yet and they released the system. OP is completely correct, Tying mastery to crafting is dishonest and really muddies Riots Intentions. I do not understand their thought process.

I'm still trying to understand what "champ permanent" means. I'm assuming that's some hextech crafting thing? If so, then I'd have to agree. Tying some performance metric to some RNG micro-transaction feature is BS.

Having the same problem. The requirements are 2 tokens and 1 Champion Permanent. The large animation displays 2/2 tokens and 0/1 in the other category (champion permanent). Now, I can only assume "champion permanent" does not mean owning the champion. What the heck does it mean? I do own Leona, and don't want to have to wait for a lucky champ shard in a chest, or waste blue essence to unlock the achievement. I put in a support ticket. Hopefully we'll get some answers soon. Very frustrating.
