should riot give warnings for "unskilled player" reports?

As we know currently reporting a player unskilled does not actually punish them just tanks elo "supposedly" but wouldn't it be nice if after enough of them. a little message would pop up saying something along the lines of "dear summoner. a player has recently reported you for unskilled player" you are NOT at risk of being punished. unless you break the summoners code. however we recommend you practice in co- op vs AI or custom games before trying out a champion for the first time. or going into a role you are unfamiliar with or haven't played in awhile. and give a few tips on basic mechanics. you could even tailor the popup to be specific on mechanics people are struggling with currently i:e map awareness, objective control. teamfights , last hitting ect.

PROS:

  • warns players they need to improve on certain things

*good players can use them to tell if they're going on tilt

*does not actually punish anyone

*if someone is rusty from not playing their main in awhile. they will know

*frustration reporting for other categories may happen less often

*if the warnings apply to sub 30s/newbs. they may grasp mechanics sooner if they are getting flagged by smurf accounts

CONS: *some players may take this the wrong way

*may get ignored. especially if people are getting a lot of them

*may not be taken seriously

*people may opt to report trolls or feeders unskilled instead of as a feeder or troll

Another useless thread with another useless idea.

If anyone needs a "warning" for unskilled player reports, it's Riot themselves. If somebody on your team is out of their league, the fault probably lies with the matchmaking that put them there.

Reports are in general for pussys, but nothing gets someone on tilt as much as a report would, even a helpful one would just cause more rage and anger at one specific person.

I mean Id like to break it down like this (this goes for every player) TLDR: just read it and try to understand these numbers in my point of view

when it comes to solo Q: 50% of your losses come from your own lack of personal skill and inability to do good half of the chance wether you win or lose is determined by your own skill. HOWEVER...: another 10% of your losses come from a team mates personal lack of skill and inability to do good 10% comes from afks/trolls/intentional feeders 10% from players who simply see ranked as "meh its just a game who gives a shit wether we win or lose" (IE: first time -champion- IN RANKED!) 10% from flamers and toxic jerks 10% server related lag issues or personal lag and internet issues

so everyone generally falls into a place where they get stuck and cant climb out of and most players mistake that as where they belong but in reality thats not true, only 50% of them got to where they are stuck

so for example somebody might get stuck at silver 3, well once they hit the point where their skill is good but not so good they can single handely carry games it becomes a luck based game for your team

think of it this way

somebody is stuck at silver 3 and now cant use the 50% skill they have to climb, but at the same time that 50% keeps them from getting demoted

now lets say riot added loss prevention for afks (no matter when or where the afk/leaver happened) lets say you never lost LP for having leavers/dc's/afks that would deduct the about 3.3% leaving just a 6.6%~ with the trolls/feeders

meaning your 50% would rise to 53.3% MEANING where you should get stuck at would be 3.3% higher than silver 3 (so take bronze/silver/gold/plat/diam/master/challenjour all have 5 division which is 35 divided by 7 is obviously 5 meaning 1/7 of the entire league bracket is in each thing which in decimal form is .14 so roughly 14% (if you do .14*7 it comes out to .98 so its slightly off) of each league bracket is held within each set of 5 so each individual tier is about 0.028 or 2.8%

so with that math if you went up 3.3% from where you were in the standings youd rise about 1 tier and half higher (now being stuck at silver 2 and not silver 3)

now finding out where you truly should belong means you would find where you are stuck at your own personal "50%" (where most people are currently) that is where you belong in the team environment (based on sheer luck) but to find where you belong on the personal scale youd have to effectively remove the50% handicap of all those possibilities of teamates

so say in a perfect world riot had loss prevention systems and other systems that made it so the only way you lost rank was if you did terrible and it was solely your fault

that would mean you could at the extra 50% onto your rank

we already established that each ranked was 14% of the total ladder so first off 14 times 3 is only 46 (you would be three things higher IE bronze would be gold silver/plat ect. plus an extra 6% (which would determine what tier you are in

Ie silver V will go up to plat 3-4

NOW what Im saying here isnt that "oh if everyone could not have to worry about their team everyone would be so much higher"

WHAT Ive projected here is the true skill level of each person IE how well they possibly can do

in a sense of

Think of every bronze player in bronze V if they game gave him 100% control over his score, his STATISTICAL limitations (unless he got better at the game and its mechanics) would be gold V and no higher. however it would be 100% up to him to win every game and not the reason he loses to obtain that gold V and when he reaches gold V he would be stuck there because of his own inability to carry himself

Now youve read this and you might ask why did i bother typing all this?

because even if riot could make it so you were 100% responsible for your own score YOU STILL would need to get better to get the highest rank because statistically speaking you can only go 3 divisions and some change higher than what you are stuck at if you are 100% responsible for your score this is basically the effect of "oh if you win 51% of your games you will climb) which is true

for every one of those 50%'s beyond your own personal skill that is taken away you will climb to a new area and get stuck again until another % is tacked on
