I just had a Support Zyra apologize about 5 times for killing Draven once.

What is this support mentality and who keeps telling them that they should feel bad for getting A SINGLE KILL?

Had to tell them it was alright about 3 times before they accepted it.

Seriously, who yells at their co-laner over one kill?

The fact that support players like that exist should explain how toxic some ADC players can be.

Vayne is popular right now and we all know how her players act.

Also a Zyra "support" can carry the game, so what if she takes some kills?

Generally if I take a kill during laning phase I'll apologize once because it's polite. If it's a large teamfight well then fucking deal.

I'm a support main. Some ADC's can be very toxic. Especially after I secured a kill that I didn't think they had any chance at getting. I've had ADC's start to roam after I've taken a kill. They say, "You got the kill, YOU be the carry I'm going to another lane since you aren't going to support." It's awful sometimes. It's worse if you freeze lane though and actually take a couple cs while the ADC backed or is walking back to lane with no chance at last hitting the minion themselves. Some ADC mains I play with regularly think they're little gods, and everyone should bow to them and do whatever they can to make sure THEY have a great game. As a support, yes I'm here to protect you and get you fed, but if something happens by accident or I take something you can't possibly get. JUST STOP RAGING. Unfortunately life as a support is often thankless and full of blame for losses, but I still keep playing on.

its the doctrine, brainwashing etc, people thinking you have to perform to the standard of lcs pro headset team trained nolife teams to be accepted into the glorious positive community of league of legends. thank riot for it.

I don't know how many times I get the dreaded "..." and it really doesn't help. I still think of Sky William's reasons why he hates ADC mains and how it's still so accurate.

I had a Blitz take 5 of my kills Draven (I was 1/3/7[Only got a kill when the enemy team tried to invade level 1] at the end of the game because we couldn't fight against a something like 7/1/8 Garen which caused us to surrender) and I didn't even down talk him in the slightest. Heck, even for a champion who's passive is massively reliant on getting kills, I can't really say that a person should be aggravated if the support takes kills. Let me ask one thing: would you have even gotten any gold for taking down that enemy if you didn't have your support there?

Steelflame9/11/2015, 10:31:24 AM4 votes

My rule of thumb is "Was it in any way a contested kill where had you not done what you had done it could have cost me my life or let them escape? I don't give a single flying -- who got it. Was it a 100% no matter what, there was no way I could NOT get it, kill? Then I might be irritable a little bit, but I'll deal. Did you go and blow multiple major spells to "secure" a kill I already had a 100% chance of getting, putting a large amount of valuable stuff on CD, just so you could get it? NOW I am mad at you."

Hawkefire9/11/2015, 8:40:10 PM3 votes

The only time, and I do mean only time I every get annoyed with my support getting a kill instead of me is when I am playing as Draven and generally I am annoyed due to specific circumstances in the way the support got the kill.

And even then, I generally don't really care, so long as the enemy dies it was all worth to me.

Raiku Kawisa9/11/2015, 4:17:15 PM3 votes

Its Draven, it doesn't matter how he does, so long as he does. And i swear some carries forget that supports have abilties that deal damage as well... Can't count the number of times I have gotten kills with Braum's Q. It hurts!

UPfreely9/12/2015, 5:49:01 AM2 votes

I always feel so bad for dravens as zyra, I take almost every kill in lane because they cant seem to last hit champions.

ahferroin79/11/2015, 4:58:24 PM2 votes

Sadly, a very large number of people. I have to agree though, if I'm playing ADC and you're my support, I don't care if you get even 1/3 of the kills, as long as I get the assist if I'm there. Conversely, if I'm playing support, and there is no way that it is possible for you to get the kill without you dying, I will do everything in my power to make sure they die, even if it means that I take the kill.

BIAKaboose9/11/2015, 5:26:52 PM2 votes

So just as a little view into what it is to be a support. I mained Braum for a while in ranked because I just like Braum, he's a pretty nice guy. First game I have a Sivir ADC who was actually rather pleasant, at one point I used E to soak damage from a creep wave of like 18 creeps or something ridiculous while my ADC walked back to lane and I didn't take a single creep, just soaked every hit so she could have all of it and grow up to be big and strong. She was really appreciative and at various points in the game was complimenting me in all chat even gasp. Next game I have an Ezreal ADC, I do the same thing, he gets back to lane and starts hitting the creeps at random, he kept missing them because he was typing in chat "What the actual fuck Braum, why were you just standing there getting hit, you just cost us the lane, they're going to just murder you now and you're going to feed" I was at 3/4 HP afterwards, I had a whopping 4 biscuits in my inventory, and with that and base regen was full HP by the time anybody showed up. The enemy ADC flashed away as Ezreal blinked in and missed quite literally everything, Q, W, ult, EVERYTHING and was out of auto range, so I flashed in and hit her with Q getting the kill, immediately in /all chat "GG, report this trash fucking Braum, taking my kills"

You get one of three ADCs as a support. Ezreal The rager: Gets pissed at literally everything you do and spam pings the entire game, you could have 18 wards on the map and be force feeding him HP the moment he gets scratched and he'd bitch at you for not diving the enemy turret so he could get a kill and promptly get you both killed. Vayne The mute: Says nothing the entire game, doesn't actually mute you, is just completely silent the entire game, doesn't even ping. [404 error: player not found] The actual decent human being: Is akin to a unicorn, you think they exist, and occasionally you'll see one from a distance, but you don't actually remember how high you were at the time so it could have been a trick of the mind.

Jokes aside, it is seriously rare to get an ADC who isn't either completely silent all game or an entitled little shit who thinks everything should be given to them on a silver platter because you only exist to ward for them and keep people away from them until they want a kill. ADC is on average the most toxic role in the entire game, second on the list is mid lane, followed by jungler. ADCs are just used to being pampered and protected all game so when it doesn't go according to plan they snap, and junglers can't really do much if their team gets trashed all game, I dunno why mid laners are ass holes, they just kind of are most of the time. I spent the majority of most games trying to get my team to stop flaming at each other more so than actually playing the game, one game I had someone flaming our top laner saying he was "Just a gold 3 scrub who doesn't know anything about the game" while I was the Bronze 2 support that had been saving his ass all game long when he made stupid decisions.

Verxint9/11/2015, 7:31:17 PM2 votes

This is one thing that's nice about DotA - nobody complains if the support is getting fed. A fed Lich or Rasta will dominate a game if he starts to snowball, and give so much room for your team to farm up and make picks.

Seriously, who yells at their co-laner over one kill?

I've had ADCs who literally start feeding if you accidentally get one KS.

Yormaughm9/11/2015, 10:42:45 PM2 votes

Every time I get an ADC who insults me as the support in any way, tells me I'm bad, blames me for them dying, I mute them, leave their lane and go support someone else. I don't agree with the entitled mindset that some ADCs have where the support is there just for them, and they're the only person on the team who can possibly carry. The support supports the entire team and the only reason they go bot lane is because 99% of the time the enemy team goes duo bot as well. If the ADC is so much better than me, and I'm to blame for every mistake, then they can 2 v 1 with no problem right? Oh and if you're being toxic to me because you overextend and got yourself killed and that's somehow my fault -- well have fun learning how to play safe under tower once I leave the lane. I swear some ADCs don't realize that they need to know how to do this cause you can't go hyper aggressive in every matchup. You hate it? Tough, I'm teaching you how to be a better player. And if you AFK or feed instead, have fun getting reported.

It's been my experience that the moment one person on your team starts tilting and typing more than playing your game is doomed anyway, but hey sometimes I get someone else fed and we win anyway.

The Ecdysiast9/11/2015, 3:06:48 PM1 votes

Here's the thing, Justic:

Even if a support doesn't know it, getting one kill hurts everyone. They know that almost instinctively. The support mains who should know, know that as you rack up assists the mount of gold you get from assists increases.

That's reset if you get even one kill.

Bladeworked9/11/2015, 7:43:42 PM1 votes

I hate to be that one guy, but you're using 'singular' wrong. Just stick with single.

Also, I play a lot of Zyra and when I play her as supp, it comes with the notion that there will be kses because my plants have a mind of their own. So the ADCs understand this and they don't raise hell when I get the kill instead of them.

Pro tip: don't use big words if you don't know what they mean.

P.S. I'm an English major and I cringed on the inside when I read your post.

RisenDarkKnight9/12/2015, 2:41:58 AM1 votes

It is frustrating if you are playing draven and the kill is free (i.e. they are cced and out of position). Draven's passive can win or lose his team/him the game. Otherwise it doesn't really matter. But the draven passive is a pretty huge swing.
